Alexandre Mendy (transfer rumour)

You said yesterday it was very far along with Mendy and Ugbo, we haven't even agreed a fee by the looks of it and Ugbo is off to Sheff Wed
We had agreed a few with Caen for Mendy, had being the operative word.

I don’t think Ugbo has ever been as far along as some people would have had you believe though.

We won’t sign Ugbo but we will sign Mendy I reckon.

I don't understand what Caen stand to gain by digging their heels in. Yes they may be able to squeeze a little extra out of the transfer fee, but the longer this drags on the more likely they are to be left with a striker who doesn't want to be there. Surely it's best for all parties to have this resolved asap, especially now the season is so close

They know how desperate we are

Just a game of chicken isn’t it? We stand to gain absolutely nothing from letting it drag on and they stand to gain absolutely nothing by essentially holding a player hostage.

He's probably the best player in Ligue 2 and they're unlikely to get an improvement even with Mbappe bankrolling them, so it's understandable that they are reluctant to lose him.
