Kristjaan Speakman has said many things ..... he likes to paint a picture that as a club the recruitment process of the profiles we may go after are well under way and are ahead of the curve ..... when in reality it seems more reactive than proactive imo.

Just had a look Mayenda 80/1I backed hemir last season when he scored a couple in pre season and it became clear he was going to be our only striker on the first day.
I thought if he scored in that game he’d obviously keep his place and go from there. I got 50/1 for him at the time. Thought it was a master stroke - how wrong was I

I can't see us paying that for a 30 year old.
Think it was their former president/owner who said Mendy was worth around 4/5m, but they had accepted that they may take a bid a little lower.
Things have probably moved on from that with Mbappe taking over. They may not want to sell at all now. A striker scoring 20+ for the last 3 seasons is hard to replace at most levels.
