Dinnar. I asked and was advised summit about turtles. So what’s the crack with Mendy?
Same. Not really arsed if it takes us 5 years as long as we get some decent value.I’m happy to wait for value for money I’m in the minority like![]()
Let’s just give everyone what they want then.Same. Not really arsed if it takes us 5 years as long as we get some decent value.
Would even be happy if we saved a million quid by holding out for another 2 years on top of that.
Fair point though they brought in strikers last year but let’s ignore that. Strikers were shit but at least we gave the clubs what they wantedTWO YEARS
Why aye. Not sure how he'd feel about playing in League 2, mind...Same. Not really arsed if it takes us 5 years as long as we get some decent value.

When Sunderland sell a player you'll be wanting the other team to pay us what we want though.Let’s just give everyone what they want then.
Fair point

Is it a pointless thread now then?Dinnar. I asked and was advised summit about turtles.
How long have we been haggling for?No I’d rather we just got rid take the first offer, that’s how it works isn’t it? You don’t haggle
God knows mate. Probably till hopefully scarf shot. I posted yesterday that I had to go back to OP thread to jog my memory who he was ( I thought he was a youngun, he's not ha).Is it a pointless thread now then?
That depends. What do you think is better - KFC or Burger King?So what’s the crack with Mendy?
I get why you would say that but not in my opinion.
The club doesn't have to get promoted, it has to be able to financially stable in order to get better.
Although at our level of finance, I see it as the best manner to run in which to give us the best probability of going up and staying there.
I think both Clarke and Ballard were around 2 and excellent value.
When you say 5m quid, that's 5m fee, 500k expenses, 1m wage per season, so effectively adding 6.5m loss onto the 9/10m were already losing per season.
I'm sure we could do it, but it would require the owner funding it and the club have almost no wiggle room for existing contracts and future transfers etc..
If there is a 5m striker out there that they're almost certain would be worth 10m straight away, great.
Depends how far we are away on valuation, no one has a clue but doesn’t stop the club getting criticised if we are miles away move on but us not moving on suggests it’s not as far off as some thinkHow long have we been haggling for?
At what point do we either stump up or move on to other targets?
I could afford to bet x 1000's of pounds with the bookies to make substantially more, which would be nice, but I don't, because gambling isn't in my nature, I'm happy with my lot. I want us to spend money on players, I want us to buy better players and I want us to improve ... but if they won't gamble then I can't really get irate. If this mega rich lot can't afford 5m for a player then we've gone as far as we can with them.
There's probably not a club in this league thats not losing moneyat's part and parcel of football ownership these days. If they dipped in their deep pockets for some lose change for a decent striker, its possible they'd see upwards of a 100m in prize money and more in sponsorship deals come into the club.
...we've all been there.Keeping my gob shut on this one cos I was told it was “done” and then Bordeaux went boom and then Caen were sold in the space of a couple of days and then it all went to shit![]()
Short could afford to spend loads on players, doesn’t mean it was a good idea in a lot of cases. 5m for a 30 y/o with no resale value is ott.If this mega rich lot can't afford 5m for a player then we've gone as far as we can with them.
