Striker
RLB and KS will decide he is a striker just wait.I thought he looked really exciting mate, I was impressed with his close ball control, he looked confident and was a constant threat.

Take your pick. He's not coming, is he?
Can potentially cause more problems than the club wants, so yeah I agreeMore than likely he will. It's rare that a club will win the game in these situations. Looking at examples of the power struggles since George Eastham first challenged the balance of power I'd guess you won't find many examples of clubs holding on to players actively seeking a move.
Fair - I thought you were saying the present squad would be good enough to get us top 6. Imo we need 2 strikers, and a decent back-up to Hume, cos Pembele looks way off.No.
If we sign someone who scores goals, yes.
Definitely improvements, but nowhere near capable of being our main striker at this level yet.
I had a feeling we'd be up there to be honest.Sorry! Someone else spoiled it for me earlier if it’s any consolation!
What interests me is if the tactics will change if (god forbid) we don’t sign a proven striker.
When the club did that daft “100m sprint” video, most of them said Mayenda would win, including himself.
I know Le Bris may have been playing a certain way in pre season, but could that be playing for the striker he wants, rather than the strikers he has? Will he change it up if Mayenda has to lead the line and use his pace as an asset? Playing more route 1 and getting him in behind with his pace?
Get the ball the the attacking midfielder, through ball to get him in behind 4 or 5 times a game and you’d fancy any striker to score at least 1 or 2 1-on-1s a game if given a few chances.
That’s at least 50-80 goals for Mayenda and HMS Piss The League docking in the Premier League.
Now obviously that penultimate paragraph is a piss take, but his pace could be an asset if (again, god forbid) we have no choice but to use the players we have and don’t sign a new striker.
You told me to stick my head up my bot hole ffs.I thought he looked really exciting mate, I was impressed with his close ball control, he looked confident and was a constant threat.

Thing is he might have to.I can’t see Le Bris changing his approach now after spending all preseason asking the players to adapt to a certain style.
He’ll surely be thinking the recruitment team will provide him with at least one (hopefully two) strikers before much longer.
After all on his appointment Speakman had this to say …
“We are excited by the new ideas Régis will bring to Sunderland and look forward to supporting him in his new role.”
I knar its not happeningIs this a knarring?![]()
Nah I just found it genuinely funny that you hold any hope of any kind of positive announcement todayOh look Mr ITkwhat is there to be positive about mate?
