18 months isn’t it?3 month contract is a joke mind.
They either think he’s the right man for the job, or they don’t.
3 months reeks of “are we really sure we’ve done this right?”
Righto. I don’t want him to fail, I just find it amazing people are happy about it when literally nee one wanted him before he was all but confirmed. It happens all the time.
He's a mag mate.Boil ya heed in shit man
18 months isn’t it?

18 months man ffs
What does it matter who he played for ffs? Since when has your playing career had a bearing on your management career? This time yesterday there was the potential for hope. If a bottom half league 1 side appointed Alex Neil nobody would bat an eye lid. We needed someone to set standards and the drag the whole club up. Today we have a man who spent his career playing for airdrie, Mansfield and Hamilton.
What about all the good things we heard from Preston fans? Ignore them? This us a quote from a Preston fan on that message board.. says it all. Here it is
- I’ll be very interested to see how he does. I really don’t think he’s a great fit for Sunderland, personally. If he found the ownership here frustrating then he’s about to experience something on another level entirely! I also think his obsession with tactics - and his tendency to massively over complicate the game - will be more problematic in League 1 than it was at Championship level. And then his demeanour on the touchline, especially his criticism of players, could damage confidence which is already fragile. His personality isn’t going to give much of a lift to the club either. Of course, he may have learned his lessons from his time here and if Sunderland get the ‘early’ version of Alex Neil then it could yet work. We’ll see soon enough but I just have a feeling his approach to the game is already outdated and there are very good reasons why he’s not landed another gig at this level.
Northern Echo state contract until the end of the season18 months isn’t it?
Downie said end of season then corrected it to end of next seasonNot according to most reports.
Who he played for is utterly irrelevant. Regardless of standard people can have high standardsThis time yesterday there was the potential for hope. And my disappointment is that all of these shortfalls regarding motivation and personality are there in another candidate. This us a quote from a Preston fan on that message board.. says it all. Here it is

Listen mate, if you don't like his appointment, fair enough, but don't pick one bad post from a message board where there are plenty of positive posts to back yourselfThis us a quote from a Preston fan on that message board.. says it all. Here it is
