Weird how we've supposedly got this mythical "system" in place, data-driven, succession planning, applications from all over the world etc...and we end up with an unemployed British manager who got sacked by Preston. Wtf are we doing?

Would imagine there was probably an actual first choice prior to the sacking that then played hard to get. We've then had to go 2nd choice. Given the defoe signing, I suspect Keane probably was 1st choice and contacted prior to sacking and has then put up a series of demands and assurances that the board refused and we're now going somewhere else.
