I don't think he is mate. A promotion with Norwich 6 years ago isn't going to change my mind. What did the Preston fans think of him?
Had a look on their forum and they seem to like him, they're surprised we're turning our noses up tbh. Better reading than Bristol City fans on Johnson.

sacked from Preston after 4 seasons with them 16th in the league, yeah great appointment
Got both of his previous sides promoted and kept PNE in mid table despite having his best players sold every season and only being given little over £2m to spend. Even most PNE fans speak highly of him which speaks volumes. What exactly do you expect him to do with a team like that in those conditions? I doubt he'll look back on it as a success per se but the Preston fans by and large dont see him as a failure either

Don’t waste your time, he’s made his mind up and won’t listen to anyone else. Rather just continue posting the same shite until he logs off to sit in a pile of his own filth and cry himself to sleep

How the f*ck do they expect anyone to have authority on a 3 month contract ffs.... the players can down tools and he will be gone afore they know it.

It gives the players all of the power, it's like the supply teacher coming in at school.

Other than Warnock who has been quoted as wanting a 3m holding stint it is an insult to any other manager imo and weakens their position considerably before they've even started.

That'd be nee problem fer Keane, Gadzooks, la.

Mind, if it's true that Neil has signed a 3 month contract, he must be desperate, either for the job, the money, or just plain desperate. He's on a hiding to nothing isn't he? What on earth can they expect of him? Unless miracles really are a data prerequisite?
Suits all parties I expect. Try before you buy into it!

3 months? Is that’s what’s being said? Guessing there’s got to be some option for extending that if he does well?

Probably. I’m only guessing he may play there as he’s very similar to Daniel Johnson’s who’s best position is also behind the strikers but Neil seemed to like him in the midfield 2. Browne was our CAM/Number 10 as Neil liked that position to be the focal point of the high press, they was more the engine of the team rather than creator but that could have been down to our lack of real quality.
And obviously you’ve all seen Pritchard more than me this season and Neil may prefer a him as the number 10.

Luke O'Nien in the 10 then!

Tin hat
I'd take Warnock til end of the season with Kisnorbo coming in the summer for the long term 'project'

Aye. A thing that I, and the slightly younger part of the North End fanbase liked about AN, is the way he speaks in press conferences. He always explains his decisions from a tactical point of view. It's not always what fans want to hear after a loss or a defeat (especially the slightly older ones), but his knowledge of football is class and you'll find yourself becoming more knowledgeable about the game just listening to his press conferences.

The Alex Neil era at Preston North End will always be remembered as an opportunity missed, through little to no fault of his.
Sounds like Johnson. We have wasted two weeks and 6 (soon to be 9) points to stand still.
