That’s exactly the point people are making. This is a pivotal moment on our transition from a big club in a hard spot to a third division team.

Some will just accept it, sadly.
I feel you but we are a 3rd tier team. We being playing like a 3rd tier team we had 3rd tier managers, 3rd tier owners(since Ellis stop paying out) since our last season of the premiership. Only positive is we have premiership Fans/stadium/training facilities.

Just as a matter of interest -what would you do to turn this around?
I’d have appointed Keane last Monday and been embarking on a massive PR push to get fans back in the stadium and roaring us to promotion.

It doesn’t matter though. It’s not my job. The people whose job it is have been failing for years and continue to do so. It’s easy when people let you off with it.

So we shouldn’t expect it to get better?

Neil is a good manager. Certainly better than Johnson. He could probably get a championship job imo.

I can see why he’d take this job but at the same time I don’t think he’s what the club needs and for both parties sake I hope he stays clear. The club is completely devoid of leadership and it needs a big personality to inspire the fans and also to take on the players. The players are too comfortable, they don’t like being challenged and they’re completely spineless in big games on the road. I can’t see Neil getting enough out of these players in big games to get the club up.

I don’t see how inventing reasons the obvious and only good choice may have been a bad one absolves those in charge of f***ing this up.

They had the abs ready to come back and support the club for a final push at promotion. Now they’ve pissed a massive percentage of them off to keep their little swot happy.
Of course “they” fucked up. KLD specifically and he’ll know it.
Keane would’ve been the best short term choice imho and that is what we need atm. However it’s looking like he wasn’t negotiating from the position of strength he thought he was.

Looks like it'll be Neil. Was my first choice ahead of Keane from the very start. Skin reet back.
Wouldn’t say I’m excited but he’s a pretty good choice out of the options we have and as I’ve said before I only really wanted Keane because the alternative was some shitter like McCann or Lennon, I’ll take Neil.

We should expect better, its just the position we are in.

What were Keanes terms?

Exactly. We’re a play off contending L1 club at the moment. So his record is as good as we can realistically expect. Two promotions, a sacking for standing up to a rotten core, a seventh finish on the nineteenth budget then having his best players sold out from under him. Three PNE fans on this thread all rate him. No one on here knows a Norwich fan who thinks he’s shite.
Hopefully we won’t be falling any further whoever comes in.
I seem to remember that was Johnson’s claim to fame too. He nearly got Bristol City to the playoffs.

Let’s hope Neil (if appointed) makes a better job of it.

You can’t just say Keane should have been given the job regardless of what his terms were though.
What we can assume is Speakman didn’t want him, we all know why.

Keane has been desperate to get back into management and has unfinished business here. I’m willing to guess that it falling through is down to the incompetence of our owners to find a solution rather than him having outrageous demands.

They’ve been a shambles since they rocked up here, i am not sure why that would have been different the last week.

How would I know?

So now you do to have to just have a preferred name; you have to have say down for talks with them, to have an opinion?

Amazing how far people will move the goalposts to defend those on charge.
Maybe they wanted to appoint him last Monday and there was a sticking point, possibly the club wanting him to move into the area. Do you think the club should give in to all his demands? What would happen in any future negotiations if they did?
