I don’t think it’s a bad appointment considering we’re a third division team but as usual the club have handled this so badly.

We’re a total embarrassment.
That’s exactly the point people are making. This is a pivotal moment on our transition from a big club in a hard spot to a third division team.

Some will just accept it, sadly.

What Id absolutely love to know is how this apparent modern, data based, scientifically minded, progressive, connected, thorough, diligent, buzzword salad cohort of footballing whizz kids have landed at what is now seemingly a binary choice of currently unemployed former championship managers, Alex Neil or Grant McCann.

Has the data machine not been serviced? We had interest from around the world according to the young owner. It seems very strange that our options, having sacked the previous manager (who was also an unemployed former championship manager) for cumulative reasons just so happen to be the two most obvious candidates in the field.

I’m starting to think that this data Revolution long term project is, in fact, a load of absolute jargonistic f***ing tosh.

Trust the philosophical structure of the process, man. Your dinosaur "common sense" isn't welcome at this Club any more.

Just as a matter of interest -what would you do to turn this around?

Roy Keane.

Of the other names linked, no one. Just flatten the stadium and turn it into affordable housing. We don’t matter any more.
What if Keane doesn’t want to be a head coach?
What if he doesn’t want to live in the NE?
What if he wants to leg it back to the Midlands constantly?
What if he wants to buy the next Roy O Donovan?

Neil was my pick on the board list, However I totally understand why most of the fans wanted Keane, The problem was always once Keane was mentioned it took a life of it's own and the longer it went on the more unlikely it would become. I always had the feeling Keane never really wanted the job that much, and everything (including money) had to be 100% right. The major problem with that is we are not a Premier league club anymore and can't pay top dollar in wages for Him, back room staff and potential players...

Sounds like a really good appointment actually.

You've just got to look at the fact that both Norwich fans and PNE fans still hold him in high regard.
He plays high aggressive press, attacking football.
Apparently tactically astute.
He's no shrinking violet and will probably be able to handle a club this size.
HAS PROMOTIONS ON HIS CV (Take note LJ)
Has a track record of instant results when appointed.

Welcome to Sunderland...Grant McCann

Because unemployed is part of the criteria. I thought everyone knew that.

I don’t see how inventing reasons the obvious and only good choice may have been a bad one absolves those in charge of f***ing this up.

They had the abs ready to come back and support the club for a final push at promotion. Now they’ve pissed a massive percentage of them off to keep their little swot happy.
