Alan Brazil talksport

Whatever your opinion on Alan Brazil, he's correct here. The media have to tip toe around the subject but the reality is that a tiny tiny percentage of football fans care about the womens game. It's painful at times watching male pundits have to pretend they care when discussing it on radio/TV.

Agbonlahor and example, deer in headlights this morning, career on the line he thought.

So what you’re saying is there are people interested? Enough to make it profitable ?

Excellent thank you for proving the OP wrong
im saying expansion and growth is the watchword of the neolib economy that Sky swims in , when you reach saturation you need either a new product or new markets . Womens sport represents both but it doesnt make it a good product of interest to existing buyers

It really isn't.

Sue Smith is in the soccer Saturday panel, Alex host of match of the day.

Several female pundits now involved in the mens game.

That's not away from the mens game at all.
Aaaah, you are on about the commentators, not actual womens football

Wtf is this gobbledegook! Ha ha ha
🤣🤣 clutching here mind.

They bought it from under BBCs nose.
They have been tied in knots here like.

It's all linked.

Sue Smith and Alex Scott should be raising their own game. But they know they get more money being involved in the mens game.

Why doesn't Sue Smith analyse Everton women every Saturday instead of the men?

When the women's games ex stars prioritise the mens game over women's its a bit hypocritical

It's not linked at all. What the hell has a statement like 'let the womens game grow independently away from the mens game' got to do with women commentating on men's football. They have nowt to do with each other
They’re talking about football, just as you do on here. They aren’t subliminally forcing you to watch Doncaster Belles
This is getting mental now like.

Well said

In addition to that weve got the equal pay shenagans and numerous other motifs.

The mens game is over 100 years old and has developed over that tenure, the womens game is in its infancy and is artificially above itself.

Furthermore, there's a reason more people watch Man United men than Aldershot, the standard and the quality, the same goes to the women. Pound for pound the quality is poor and It's the same reason the likes of the womens NBA pails to the NBA.
I think they've just had the first million pound player. About 45 years after the male £1M player. That's probably about right, a good 45 years behind.

To be fair if it wasn't for the men's game propping it up no club would be able to afford that transfer fee.

People who think it's good must watch Minder and thinks it's as good as Line of Duty.

Yeah I'm of the same opinion, I feel like if you were that bothered about growing the women's game you'd go and showcase your broadcasting talent covering the WSL. Taking the money to comment on the mens game seems hypocritical

So why would Jamie Carragher. Micach Richards, Jamie Redknapp, Gary Neville and Roy Keane be the most popular pundits?

Then on BBC you have Shearer and Lineker?

Man city, man utd, Liverpool and England

Your a bit dim if you think a players profile has nothing to do with making people watch games.

Brazil being incredibly sexist? No surprise there. Sounds like the OP is too.
Not sure why that’s sexist. Simply saying women’s football is not as interesting as men’s to many people. It’s like me saying I couldn’t care less about crown green bowling…it’s a sport that doesn’t draw much interest. Women’s football, is a sport in it’s own right which happens to not generate the interest the men’s sport does. End of. That’s not sexist.

Not wrong with Minder. Not one person has said anything women’s top flight football is of the same standard as the men’s but by your parameters, our league titles aren’t worth the same as those from the 70s onwards then?

Why are you obsessed with pundits? It really isn't that important in the growth of football

I don't hate it, I'm just rather indifferent to it really.

I get why people want to watch it, and it is brilliant to get girls interested in another sport.

Just haven't really been enthused by it when I have watched it myself.

All a bit meh.
