Oh grass roots is great. Anything that gets kids away from phones and games consoles is good.

They really need to improve the game with new ideas that level the playing field. Slightly smaller pitches and goals would be a start. Women are lost on men's facilities, especially the keepers. It makes it look amateurish.

I'd imagine that will improve over time. It's an idea for now though- but not sure how that would work with women using mens size pitches in stadiums etc.

Aherne and that Laura are dreadful. They have zero crack and very limited knowledge of sport. Er it's Talk SPORT!

Laura was getting awards. It was pure rubbish 😂

I'd love to know how much the actual listening figures dropped.

I know what you mean, but with continued exposure, then the pack will become deeper as more girls will see a pathway into professional sport and so pursue that as a career.

I’m a big UFC fan for example. When they first brought in the women’s divisions, it was embarrassing how far ahead of the pack fighters like Ronda Rowsey were. But now, all the female divisions are really competitive as more and more women are training now, and there are some really good fighters out there now.
It’s not as deep as the men’s divisions yet, and so outside of the top10 then the skillsets get a little questionable, but there have been some really good and technical women’s fights over the years.

I think the same will be true if football if chauvinists don’t keep slamming the door shut any time anybody wants to mention the women’s game.
