He'll have been on more at Boro than our players here 2yrs ago, then left for Ajax where you'd have thought they'd at least have doubled his wages.....he'll be on good money over there imo

Aye. In many ways it seems an unlikely link. That said I’m sure plenty (me included) saw the Le Fee links and thought …no chance.

Aye I saw that. Mind Akpom doesn’t seem to have been first choice for a while so the implication is Farioli doesn’t fancy him.

I remember him having one outstanding season for Boro and then leaving, but he'd been there a while and didn't seem to do much?...Wasn't he playing as a no.10 at the time of his goals too? but again, I could be talking bollocks 😆

What I said exactly is he (and Ian Wright) were pulling up trees as professionals in their early 20's. Jamie Vardy scored 20 odd goals in the conference (Fleetwood finished top) when he was 24 (25 in January) which got him a move to the Championship.

Akpom went back on loan to POAK because he was shit in his first season at Boro at 25. He scored 5 goals in 30 odd games.

He then came back to Boro at 27 and had the season of his life pretty much out of the blue.
