Akpom

Don't know much about the lad but looking at his record obviously he's had one outstanding season a couple of years ago. But he's also played quite a bit top flight football across Europe and has a very good pedigree with England.

Saying that he just doesn't seem to a signing we'd make. Tell will tell though

Sounds like Newcastle supporter i work with. Bet me £20 we wouldn't finish in top half of league. Then bet we wouldn't finish above Borough.
His latest is long way to go so I've offered to double the bet but he declined.
Also offered him a cash out at £30 because he has a young child and didn't want bairn to go short.
 
If true, I bet JH will put a good word in for us.

I could see it happening as a loan if his wages weren’t too problematic.

“Sunderland is reportedly making a serious attempt to acquire English striker Chuba Akpom, as reported by Foot Mercato. Akpom, who is currently with Ajax, might be in his final weeks at the club since he is not a regular starter under coach Francesco Farioli. Although there has been interest from Ligue 1 clubs Lille OSC and RC Lens, they have not pursued any further, which provides Sunderland with an opportunity”.

Given his age I’d imagine there’d be little interest on our part to make it a permanent move unless he really excelled and the price reflected his age.
