A character like McGeady isn't a problem, but you have to make sure you're holding the leash on him. Sir Alex had the same with Roy Keane. They shine a light on your characters an show you who's up for it and who isn't.

The problem is everything I've heard about Parkinson suggests he's weak as piss when it comes to standing up to those characters and marshalling them.

Parkinson showed McGeady the door pretty early in his tenure. If what was said at the time on here is to be believed, he also told Maguire he was on very thin ice which seems to have worked. Say what you like about Parkinson but you can't knock him for that. The bloke before him however...

Was class in 2018/19 and pretty much carried us once Maja left, if he can still do it at this level then Parkinson needs to find a way to integrate him into the squad but he looks finished IMO.
