Ahmed Abdullahi

hes a unit, certainly outmuscles some of the u21 defences hes been up against
hes also quick and direct
amazed hes not even been on the bench...especially when you can have so many on there now

he cant be any less energetic the the blokes we have had playing at the moment
Genuinely dont think he's stayed fit long enough to be considered. Bags for fun at that level like you aren't wrong

It's not we are still in with a reasonable should of European football

It's just idealistic whilst we have a shout of finishing 8th I'd be shocked if it happens
The lack of squad depth was exposed against Port Vale. We are a million miles off being good enough to compete in Europe

But are competing for a place in it
Yeah of course we are, I’m not saying that.
Palace have been putting virtual 2nd teams out in the Conference League and still winning games. We put ours out (albeit forced through injuries and suspensions) and could even beat Port Vale.

Tbh, he’s never really been fit!

I think what was meant is the way the game was going it was crying out to chuck the young lads on. I thought that at the time.

To be honest I didnt see the bench but thought young Finn should have had a go at about 80 mins. My point remains, it would have been carnage had we brought young lads on, folk already suggesting we didnt fancy it.

To be fair I can remember the same clamour for David Rush and Ryan Noble
And he might not make it but I think this is different. He most likely would have been involved before now if he had been fit for a period of time but he seems to have had a number of injuries. Hopefully he can keep himself fit. Its not just the fact he is scoring goals but his linkup play has been good and he has physical strength too. Maybe thats making him look better than he is in the U21s but who knows.

Ive seen isidor and mayenda plenty this season, he deserves a chance before brobbey is back. If hes not good enough fair enough but those 2 arent impressing and dont look they are particularly bothered. Think there may be some egoes in the squad we haven't noticed until now.

That would be correct if Rush and Noble were 6 foot plus monsters instead of weedy under 21 kids .
For me the lad has the look of another Kenwynn Jones and not just for the somersaults .

That’s why I think he would have been canny to bring on, on Sunday mate. As we know, League Eon centre halves are big and strong but not much else so, if he could have matched them physically, we may have gotten more joy.

We were losing to Port Vale, scandalous to not chuck everything at it considering it's a knockout competition. Only used two subs and one was with 7 minutes to go!
I agree. 10 minutes into the second half it was clearly the same as the rubbish first half so we should have chucked 3 subs on

In fairness Rush did a job and was quite physical for his size.

I can understand people having a go had those young lads started and we got knocked out, but the facts remain we were just poor the whole game and offered nothing in attack or worth our system. I personally would have put both young strikers on and having a go and even took Rigg off and gave Aleksic a go.
