Adingra

Probably a player for us who would have far more effect in europe than the league

However think we should move on, esp. if he has a good world cup that bumps up his value

Typical winger class on his day shite half the time. Did he really get a chance with brobbey as a target? Can't remember off hand. Brobbey took a while to get going but was a different player up front and shielding and laying off to attackers after couple months

I think it's clear he has no future here but I think we wrote him off too early. The wide positions have been an issue for us, and apart from Le fee (who needs to play in the centre), none of the wide men have really proved enough to nail down those positions.

I still don't think Hume is a winger, Talbi is inconsistent (especially on the right), Rigg isn't a winger, I'm not confident Mundle is up to this level, Traore is injury prone and likely off now, Angulo looks a bit rabbit in the headlights, and Ta Bi is incredibly raw.

So we seem to have stuffed the squad with wingers who havent really made their claim. Some may come good, some won't, but I think it is too early to be writing Adingra off. But I think we have.

Started for Ivory Coast last night and is looking likely to feature heavily in the WC regularly.

If he does well do you try and persist with him and see if he settles into a more attacking Sunderland side or do you just maximise the cash and get rid?
I would get rid. There’s a good player in there, but he doesn’t fit the identity of the club.
Our recruitment now is all about work rate. We only look for players who graft their bollocks off. I’m not saying that he’s lazy, but he just isn’t a grafter. Add to that how lightweight he is also. Enzo is small, but he isn’t afraid to stick his boot in. Adingra just didn’t have that about him.

So no hard feelings, but he just isn’t the right fit for the club.

Bar Xhaka, was probably the signing I was most excited about last summer but don't think he does the nitty gritty stuff that RLB demands.
Wouldn't mind if he stayed and he could at least play in Europa League / one less signing to make. But suspect he'll want to move on

I’d get shot. Doesn’t know how to defend and apart from 30 minutes against Leeds he could have been Abdullah Ba’s twin.
Hit a cracking cross from the right wing for Balards goal 1st game of the season V West Ham. Defo has talent but a tad lightweight. A good WC and his stock soars. He certainly isn't like a massive flop and just didn't get that many games really

It's less to do with his graft and more that he's lightweight and isn't really a 1v1, beat the defender winger. He looks far more comfortable when he has someone he can quickly offload to so he can make a run into the box. I think I read that he's been at wing back for Monaco which makes some sense - he's never going to have the physicality to play there for us though.

It's not really a surprise his best run of form came with Cirkin behind him, as he's instinctively a lot more willing to overlap and get forward than Reinildo.

Watched him last night playing for the Ivory Coast against France.

Pretty much demonstrated what we saw from him in his six months here.

Quite skilful on the ball but work rate isnt really his forte which pretty much rules out him getting much of a look in under Le Bris.

He missed one great chance seizing on some indecision in the French defence he took a great first touch but then scuffed his shot which the keeper pushed round the post.

I think he’ll be moved on this summer.

Thing is, Angulo doesn't look all that (so far). Might look better after pre season etc.

If we sold both i wouldn't be too upset tbh, as long as we replaced of course.

Was talking to a few Brighton fans in the millers in London the day after our play off final win. We were talking about Tommy Watson and they were over the moon it probably meant Adringa was away

If he does well enough to inflate his value because of a "World Cup Premium" then you sell him.

Same goes for the vast majority of our players at the World Cup really. Other than probably Xhaka (as he's unlikely to attract a premium due to age anyway).

Brobbey scores 7 goals, wins the golden boot and a ridiculous offer of £75m comes in for him, you take it.

Angulo will offer better discipline in the shape. His profile is better defensively than Adingra's. Reggie likes this
