This is the key point. Not really mate no. Whether the new owners are minted or not, they'll certainly give more of a fuck than our current owner
Top of my head if not sold, which some will be. Asoro, Maja, Gooch, Robson, Honeyman. No idea about any younguns. Steele will almost certainly be in goal given his contract. We'll bring in some players anyway. It's a decent starting point. Keep McNair if possibleWho would that leave us with?
Selling to a complete chancer could also do that marra. Long term I don't think Ellis is going to be our saviour. I just think the club needs to be sold to the right people. They might come along in the next few weeks for all we know but, we will/could be in better shape to attract a better option in 12 months.12 more months of Shorts reign could see us fall even further mate.
LoveWho would that leave us with?

Spot on mate. Our position financially needs a sensible, level headed approach. A local businessman might think like a fan and set us back further, especially if he runs the club like a stag do. However we can't afford to be as naive as we were this season. We might be in the minority but I agree with you. Some seem to think that some well meaning local businessmen with limited funds would be a better option. For me they'd be a huge risk, especially if they haven't ran a football club before. If they don't get everything right and stop the losses we could be in even more trouble.
The way I see it we shouldn't need to spend anything to at least compete in league one. We'll keep some decent academy players, loads of decent league one players will move on free transfers. The main thing is having an idea of what kind of players we want (powerful ones for a start, we're weak as piss this season), hopefully Coleman will have that idea already.
If we keep Short, keep things tight financially, we should still be able to compete at that level and shouldn't be at risk of going down again. By the end of the season hopefully the debt will be paid down a fair bit and restructured. At that point, whether in league one or the Championship, we'd be a much better bet for people who might actually have a bit too invest in the playing side (not expecting rich Arab men or anything, but people with something to spend will be needed if we aim to get back to the prem). For me that's a better option than selling now to people who might struggle to meet the asking price!
No they wouldn't they were knocked straight out of the checkatrade trophy. We need beefing up at the back and up top. Free transfers no doubtOur under 23s would hold their own next season (including the lads who hit the first team this year)
I got post number 1000!!! get in there
It's the high point of my otherwise awful day.So happy for you marra, well done!
So when you say “See what tomorrow brings”, could something be literally happening tomorrow Tonton? That’s why it’s top secret![]()
I think you'll find you haven't mindI got post number 1000!!! get in there
It wouldn't cost much to fill that squad. Look at the teams in league 1 this season. Pennies go a bit further than this leagueSo how do we then cope with very little investment? We'd need mostly a new squad.
So how do we then cope with very little investment?.
Robson ......where to South Shields he’s non league at a pushTop of my head if not sold, which some will be. Asoro, Maja, Gooch, Robson, Honeyman. No idea about any younguns. From what has previously been said by both Coleman and Bain, it sounds like a meeting with Short will happen if there is no takeover.
It may sound like blind optimism, on my part, but I really think that Coleman could do an amazing job of re-selling the club and possibilities to Short. At least to the tune of keeping it short-term and investing the small amount of funds to get us back to the Championship. It’s then a case “see where we go from there, Ellis”.
Coleman has a ton of passion and you can’t help but get a little inspired by him. Did anyone watch his Oxford Uni address discussing the Wales job?
