Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

No she was given transcripts of police interviews in May, after his suspension was lifted and after he had been arrested and allowed to carry on playing.
If you're going to throw accusations at least get them right.

The allegations though are that Johnson himself was at the meeting and volunteered information to the club. That's all we need to know......what did Johnson say, if indeed he said anything and what did the police say Johnson had admitted to them. Surely most of us knowing that exact information could make a considered judgement on whether the club acted correctly in their subsequent actions.

I was never asking for anything in regards to Hillsborough, unlike some people on here.

So it's a totally different situation but don't let that stop you.

So your basically saying those who think questions need answering should not use this public forum to air there views but instead write to the club instead?

We know the bit from The police, fella. That meeting happened before Johnson had been interviewed so the police told the club nothing.

FFS, he's hardly going to fess up to the club. He and his representatives would have done there utmost to portray this as 'trivial' and not likely to end up where we are now to ensure there client is not being prejudged.

Luke Edwards, isn't he the journalist who accused Johnson of doing the mh17 celebration? he's tweeting at the moment having a go at our fans

I tweeted at him for being a bell end posting holier than thou crap and he replied back saying he wouldn't have to post it if "nobody had done anything wrong" ....

Comes across as a right attention seeker, always courting controversy with his comments to get more hits on his article links

saw something on twitter last night from a copper that stated that the police wouldn't disclose specifics bar the charges against him, it was down to the accused party to discuss what actually happened with an employer.

His QC apparently handed transcripts of his police interviews to the club, these same police interviews where Johnson has admitted lying in to save himself.
Seems people don't want to hear that though mate. They'd rather think the worst.

Maybe so but i dont think that information will be forthcoming.
The police will not and will never inform an employer of guilt, that is for legal system to decide, they just form a case based on the evidence and hope for the verdict to match their findings, they will advise of arrest and the charges against the person but never go 'oh aye he done it'.
It is down to Johnson to inform the club and given his record throughout this of lying and squirming and changing his story then i wouldn't use his word as gospel for any grounds of accusation against the club, he's proven himself to be self absorbed and covering himself, why should he protect the club.

A lot being said about the special nature of this (as opposed to a plumber from Darlo etc) - seems to me such a long delay in the court date was the major factor in the fingers now being pointed at the club. Innocent until proven guilty is easy to say and just as easy to dismiss but that year's delay has hurt the club - when the sum total of the evidence is available messages, a small number of second hand witnesses, and the testimony of those involved, why such a delay? No complex forensics, no search for a weapon etc etc. Surely in the public interest and interests of the accused and victim this should have been processed to the point of trial with haste and 'Wearside women' would be better criticising the system for delaying than the club for being in a diificult position as employer.

A big chunk of the delay was caused by Adam Johnson requesting the trial be moved away from the north east, though, as one of his delaying tactics, to keep trousering the £60k per week.

I think it's very easy to take the moral high ground by doing nothing more then posting on a chat forum.

If people feel so strongly, surely they should do a little more.
