Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

Average age of the people in that video is 16/17, Bunch of them behind me started singing it at Hull but soon shut up when everyone around them were kicking off

Not disputing that, and in no way trying to say SAFC fans are in general to blame.

@Reiver (I tagged you this time) was saying the other day how he would drag a banner criticising Short and Byrne out of anyone's hands who had it at the Palace match, so I was just checking what he did when he saw people singing these songs at Hull.

You don't have anything interesting to add then, thought not.

If you have some evidence of the club doing something wrong here, posting it on here might be a better use of your time than trying to insult fellow supporters with poor one liners.

There is overwhelming evidence that the club, and specifically the CEO, knew that he had kissed the child and had seen the messages they had swapped.
The decision to allow him to play on in those circumstances is deeply flawed and makes the position of Margaret Byrne untenable.

It is another example of the lack of quality, experience and wisdom in the club's executive leadership team.

She has to go, and go now

It was embarrassing to be a Sunderland fan that night. 'Who put the ball in the minor's pot' being one of the chants that went on for a long time. Fortunately the arseholes singing it were more interested in chucking drinks over each other while singing it, so the chant was never heard in the inside of the Stadium.

Aye, remember the Bramble ones too

It's one of these things were 90% of fans know better but the minority make everyone look like wankers to an observer from a far.

Idiots, all part of 'Lad' culture. As are the opposition fans who gleefully sing about Johnson being a paedophile.

Dickheadish oneupmanship from, although often young, grown men. No regard for victims or families in these types of songs, it's all about taking the piss and 'having a laugh'

Yip, this. Like our fans who have sang paedo songs at Boro fans for years, and that wasn't even anything to do with their club.

I don't know I'm not party to that information, and that's been the basis of my whole argument really, nobody knows, the full truth of the matter, there is no proof either way. It's just pissed me off that while the person who has caused this had the benefit of innocent until proven guilty and a trial with a judge and jury, while the club have undergone trial by media and been judged to be guilty until proven innocent without any of the benefits the twat who caused this has been allowed.

A statement of fact from a QC in Crown Court is as close to a certainty of evidence as you will find in most places. Particularly when that statement is entirely unchallenged.

Why are people still arguing about this when Durham police have came out and said that the club knew about the details?

2 types of come back.

1 - at that point he still wasn't not absolutely guilty. Still an allegation.

2- another officer contradicted this comment in the courtroom. As far as I can tell though, it's 2 different incidents so no contraction.

Either comeback lacks substance and should not get the club out of the shit.

Adam Johnson should not have played a single minute from March 2nd when the Durham Police force told our CEO and lawyer the offences.

If people can not accept or understand that, that of course is up to then but I would find it very tough to see their judgement on the matter, especially looking at the moral and ethic grounds.

None of it is appropriate but accusing someone of being a nonce (even if for shit one-upmanship reasons) isn't as bad as 'he shags who he wants':oops::oops:

If the club had sacked him when the police spoke to them he could still have sued the club for negligence if the trial found in his favour. Recent cases have happened when the complaint has not been found true. The club have done exactly what they should have done, AJ will have hoped initially that his defence might win but it appears his counsel has informed him at the beginning of the case that he had no choice but plead guilty on at least one count and the club acted then, quite correctly.

I don't believe in having banners and all that however I personally believe the club needs to answer all questions regarding their knowledge of what they knew regarding the texts and stuff

I was at the match but not present for that disgrace.

If I had I'd have booed and, as I said earlier in this thread, if there was a banner with those words on I'd have approached them.

Fair enough. Whenever I heard the inappropriate AJ stuff, which tbf was only half a dozen times after his arrest, and was always a complete minority, I never heard them challenged, but neither did I as I'm confrontation adverse. If you would have done so good for you.

Easy. Suspend with pay, until outcome of trial. Perfectly reasonable response.

I remember watching him warming up against city. He was laughing and joking with zabaletta, he's not wired up right

Should have upheld his suspension pending investigation. Fairly simple in my view
