Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

No chance in hell.

The offence he's up for includes up to penile penetration of anus, mouth or vagina, and included children down to the age of 12. She was at the higher end age wise, and it was digital not penile. He will get circa 4 years imo. Look at links way back in the thread of penile penetrations of 15 year olds by adults (inc teachers) resulting in 2 to 3 years.
Not being awkward because of the differences we've had but I genuinely think he will get more than that, it's now 3 offences, the two he pleaded guilty to he might have got away with a non-custodial if he'd been found not guilty on the others. But combined, and taking into account he put her through a trial so nothing off for that, I think he'll get more than 4 years.

How do you know she didn't give him a blow job?....she said she did he denied it. Just because he is found not guilty that does not mean he didn't commit the offence

It just means there was reasonable doubt to cast a unanimous vote for all we know the swing could have been 11-1

Fucks sake OJ Simpson and Michael Jackson were found not guilty and we all know that was a travesty on both counts

The offence he was found guilty of was only 10-2, so I doubt it.

That was a bit strange because the judge first said he could only accept a unanimous vote.

The judge actually told him that his sentence would be in range of 4-10 years and he was looking at 5 years as a starting point;

The fact he was in a position of power being her 'favourite player' is a massive factor on how the judge will deicide this. This wasn't some clown who met a bird and tried to tap her, he knew she idolised him and he was a 'celebrity' in her eyes and he used that to get what he wanted. The bloke's a grade A cünt and the people trying to defend him need to have a word with themselves. If this was some fella caught by Dark Justice they would have the pitchforks out.

And seems to have instantly appealed which will only add more time surely?

Just because the judge said that doesn't mean that's what he will be getting.

nail on head there tbh. i thought 12 months suspended for the 2 guilty ones and 4/5 if the other 2 were proved

I haven't seen much defence of him to be truthful ........ I'd be happy to see him go away for 10 years.

However, this wasn't someone setting out to groom a stranger on the internet.

She made the initial approach, as far as I'm aware, which doesn't excuse him but the sentence may reflect that.

As if man.

Why not? The club could invite a group of supporters, answer their questions and they can then release a joint statement.

As I have said numerous times, this is a matter between the fans and club.

We'll see. To some extent it's always pointless speculating what sentence a judge will give because if you have one who thinks that the fact he's a premier league footballer and he only pleaded at the last second to the two, and showed contempt in court etc. then maybe yes, 5 years. Equally, you get a judge who takes the age/ non sex as more salient and maybe you're talking 2 1/2 - and since none of us know what type of sentencer the judge is like who knows.

All I'd say is looking at similar sentences it would be pretty unusual for it to be more than 4 years, imo.

Tbf. He started abusing me for no reason and sending pms to me for some strange reason. He stalks my Twitter and refuses to reveal himself.

If he wants to bury the hatchet then I'm more than happy too. He's the one constantly on my case.

Certainly isn't ...... tsunamis, famine & refugees but a dispute over 'he said this, she said that' is at the top of the news.

Where did it all go wrong?

Do you think it will get a mention on BBC1 Question Time??

Aye but the oral sex would be quite a big escalation and it wasn't proven so I think 3 to 4 is a goos starting point.

Not a chance in hell it will be 6 or 7 and if it was it would go straight to the appeals court and be battered down to 3 or 4 imo.

Absolutely it goes both ways but reading some of the posts on here some idiots are trying to tone down what this creepy fucker has done some even going as far as saying the poor young lass who was only a month shy of still being 14 should be held accountable for her actions

The mind boggles

I think Johnson is clearly a selfish individual who is an absolute disgrace. I have absolutely no sympathy for him. But I believe the other party involved is also accountable for their actions. She was aware that Johnson was in a relationship and had a child. Sorry but I don't subscribe to the 'poor young lass' view

here some opinions from the time the original arrest:

I think what is largely forgotten in all this, is that this was a young Sunderland supporter and the club should come out an acknowledge that they could and should have handled the situation a lot better. If they did not feel like they could terminate his contract, they should have put him out on loan overseas somewhere
