Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

4th May - the club were shown 800+ whatsapp messages between Johnson and the girl. Clear evidence of Johnson's grooming campaign. The club have claimed these messages were passed onto Johnson's legal team immediately and they didn't bother looking at them (and evidently Johnson's legal team looked at them, didn't say a word and filed them away without the club enquiring as to what his legal team had just seen). Total and utter horseplop I'm afraid.

No it's not, I'm not talking 4th May, the BBC reporter is referring to a meeting between the Durham Police and Byrne in March and saying they had a "detailed meeting" leaving people to interpret that as a discussion around evidence. It was made clear in court by the same police officer that they did not go into detail about the evidence against him, just the nature of the allegations and safeguarding measures that the club should take. He wasn't even charged until 23rd April so the suggestion that the police told the club he was guilty of these offences and provided then with evidence then took 7 weeks to charge him is ridiculous.

It may be true that the club received the details on 4th May, but a carefully constructed question by the defence barrister and unchallenged testimony from a known liar about the nature of that disclosure is a very different thing to the police saying they provided full details to the club as has been suggested in some places.

If Margaret B ends up getting the sack off the back of this maybe I'll be happy but f***ing hell man.

Stop the hysteria
Stop the faux outrage
Stop the attention seeking
Stop the contrition
Stop the hollier than thou bullshit

If you all feel that strongly fuck off and support the mags, don't let the door smack your arse on the way out.

What a load of shit.

Are you for real? Are you seriously failing to realise how serious this is, and how entitled people are to be outraged by it? There is nothing "faux" about this at all.
He's thick as shit and spends his time stalking people on Twitter. He's the attention seeker. Ignore the prat

Your coming across as the most angry outraged man on this thread.

They weren't, but they can still suspend him.

They did and then "his suspension was lifted after a meeting between the club and the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA), and after the club took independent legal advice. The club reached this decision only after carrying out a safeguarding assessment and liaising with relevant agencies."

I've said all I want to say on the subject about what I think happened. Check my previous posts if you really want to know but I really can't be arsed going over the same ground time and time again.

I've just checked and I see nothing in your posts addressing the club statement not responding to the main allegations. I can understand your position in not wanting to discuss it any more but I have not seen a single post giving an adequate response to the main problem raised with the club statement and the shitstorm that has hit today. Happy to be proved wrong.

I'm not arsed me I find the contrition amusing. You'll all be laid in bed in 3 hours picking your arseholes thinking you cant be arsed to
Get up for graft tommorow but at least itll be friday etc.

Or will you be sitting awake sweating over this forum thinking of ways to express how angry you are?

And could have been re-suspended.

Would be nice if the club answered the questions posed to them.

I thought yesterday would see the end of this sorry affair...Seems like its just the beginning .....Warra f***ing mess :(

As far as I can see, and going by the statements, the Club was made aware of the allegations, had detailed meetings with Police, the player, the PFA and lawyers to determine the best course of action, and took it. I really can't see anything beyond this.

You had a f***ing paedophile playing for your club ffs. And it looks like they knew all about it.

Mental that you think anyone's outrage is fake.

How f***ing dare you man.

When people get angry and make a scene because James McClean doesn't wear a poppy, you have a point, it's a trivial gesture, faux outrage. When SAFC allow someone to keep playing who has sexually abused an underage SAFC supporter who he met on club premises and used his position at the club to exploit, there is nothing 'faux' about the outrage. The 4 year sentence he is about to get should be a measure of how serious this matter is. The victim has explicitly said the decision to keep playing him caused her trauma.

Log off because you're embarrassing all decent SAFC fans who actually appreciate that this was seriously bad craic all round.

Have a think about it, you might be able to work it out.

A load of elitist crap.

I spend money on kits, programs, gifts and special stuff, when I can get up there I go to the games. Same if I'm in London or Manchester for an away game. Just because I don't live in the North East or England anymore doesn't make me any less a supporter than you.
