Adam Johnson Trial Verdict

He admitted in his police station interview he proper kissed her.

The issue isn't that SAFC should have sacked him straight away, not many people are saying that, it's that he should have been suspended and/ or kept away from the first team.

I said in an earlier post it's canny hard to follow exactly what the club has had access too and when, for me anyway. If they have had access to what has been claimed and Johnson did admit to 'proper' kissing then girl then it has been handled awfully by the club and Johnson should not have been available to play and should have been at least suspended without pay. I personally think he should have been sacked if that was possible

Before all this came out I thought the club had handled it well but this is shit

So in essence, will this affect the playing side of things ie points deduction, fine etc. Or will it mean a sacking ie Margaret Byrne etc.

Definitely won't affect the playing side of things.

I don't see how Byrne's position is tenable; especially given the context of her criminal law background - but ultimately it's up to Short.

This is what was alleged in court, by AJ and his QC and what SAFC have failed to respond to.

Suspending or not playing him until the outcome of the trial would surely imply we were being judge, jury and executioner of a man that plead not guilty up until the start of his trial........we were damned if we did and damned if we didn't. The fact we'd spoken to the PFA and will have sought legal advice surely should suffice to those who are now flinging shit at the club, hoping something sticks !

I can see your point but IF he did admit to properly kissing a 15 year old girl to the club then he should have been suspended at least in my personal opinion. Some of it is hard to follow with the different camps saying opposing things which is why I say IF.

Nowt to do with BSA though is it. He was aware he could play so did. Dick Advocaat did too.

I'm not saying it is. I bloody hope it's not!!
Hopefully BSA and Advocaat have just been guided by Byrne throughout all of this.

But someone asked if this could impact on the team in any way.
It is entirely possible that seeing as the club had failed to address the issues that he might get asked some awkward questions in his coming press conferences.

It would be difficult to sack every player though tbf .........

I would suggest the BBC, of all organisations, should wind their f***ing necks in.

They'll see it as a perfect deflection to be brutally honest.
