A New Manager

I don’t either with Ross, that’s the concern. He’s been given time to put his mark down but has failed.

So do you know anyone? Surely FFP doesn’t include paying a manager? If/when the takeover happens surely we should look to appoint someone that can take us up the leagues as well as change our performances and pay them accordingly? If it is a new era it would be the biggest statement to find that person?
Fortunately I'm led to believe ffp doesn't include the "manager"
Apart from my missus who's the supreme optimist's supreme optimist I speak to no-one who enjoys watching Ross's brand of football. I've got no idea why the owners, who I think are doing a decent job by the way, can't see that he's holding the club back. Gates are starting to drop, performances are no better than the second half of last season and worse than his first half a season. He's a real passion killer.
I watched the Rochdale game and actually got angry watching it so decided to do something less painful

Saying all that I've backed them to beat Accrington. On the basis that we shouldn't even be in the same league as them.

John Bond..ah eez fkin deed man..still worth a shout, probably do a better half time team talk than Jack

If we're going to be rich but not allowed to splash out new players (fair enough), surely we'll be allowed to splash out on a new manager? I'm thinking Chris Wilder, Lee Bowyer...

I think Ross will be given until late November to have us in the top two and looking like a side that will comfortably gain automatic promotion.

If he hasn’t achieved that I can see a change being made in time for the new man to assess the squad and determine where we need to strengthen in January.

We shouldn’t need to spend much to get out of L1 but it we’re serious about making a speedy return to the premier league then the summer window should be interesting.
Wouldn't argue with any of this ^^^

I don’t have anything against Ross and wouldn’t be upset if he’s given at least until the end of the year to improve the way we play. I also don’t see who could (realistically) come in and make a big difference.

When the takeover happens there is a very special project for an ambitious manager and we will have the clout to pay the potential boss what he wants. It would still in my opinion rule out managers that could get Premier League or even championship jobs but I do feel we could look abroad to a young up and coming manager that is getting his teams playing good attacking football.

So who could we realistically look at?

Doing a bit of research (as know bugger all about foreign leagues) there seems to be quite a few young managers that are one or two steps away from a big job.

My research was a bit shit and came up with one who probably wouldn’t be available. That and Ivan Lenko who is under investigation for dodgy stuff

Christophe Pelissier - Took an unknown team into Ligue 2 and then got back to back promotions with Amiens. Only recently joined L’Orient though so be a big ask.

So who else is out there that could revolutionise our playing dna?
How about that David Wagner that was at Huddersfield ?

If we're still in this league next season I doubt I'll be renewing. It's f***ing awful stuff. I'll get an allotment and go to the pub to watch some proper footballers.
Now we are in the lowest league since 1988 I have had the misfortune to witness 5 league games. They were Fleetwood, Luton, Coventry, Portsmouth last season and Oxford this season. 60 hours out of my life which I will never get back. I have to question my sanity when after 5 home games (340 mile round trip) and the club spending 10 times more than anybody in the division I have watched 450 minutes of whatever and failed to see them win. This is punishment for when I lived a mere 10 miles away and saw them win 19 games and draw against the 2 Bristol teams many years ago in TBF about 90 hours and £200 less.

Ross will be under huge pressure with these new owners. If they fly in and he continues to play safety first football, he'll be axed in no time.

I can forgive last season due to the amount of work on and off the field but I was really expecting him to start looking like that 'up and coming' young manager we were all told about

I still hold out hope for him. Much like a few of the lower league players we've brought in, it seems the pressure of playing for this club is too much to handle and I think (although he does well to hide it) Ross suffers from the very same thing.

He needs to find his balls and go back to the kind of tactics that got him the job here in the first place.....and quickly.

Great home season that one.

Signs. Really . I watch players who haven't a f***ing scoobie what role they play on the field. It's boring nauseas and on a par with what I witnessed under Jimmy Adamson and Simon Grayson.

It’s league 1. It’s 10 years of mess. It was never going to be pretty. Nobody is completely exempt but Jack Ross isn’t the main problem. All things considered he’s doing a decent job

It's a nice thought that a young up and coming manager can come in and grow with the club and eventually be mint. The reality is though, he won't be given time and we'll chase him before he's had a proper chance.
Exactly, unless they hit the ground running any manager is fkd these days.
