7 games left. How do we use them?

Short term viewpoint.

To find out where we come up short

Not really.

Strange reply.

We have no chance of classifying for Europe. Get real.
Next match....

Brentford (7th) v Everton (8th)

There's every chance we could be level with one of those clubs at the end of our next game or 1 point behind both.

Do you think fans of Brentford and Everton think they have 'no chance' of qualifying for Europe?

Do we try to get as many points as possible or shall we use them to try out new formations and tactics with a view to next year?
Personally I would try to try out new tactics to improve our attacking threat. We can't stand still and repeat tactics. People find you out and will find it easier to annul you. Standing still is going backwards.
I am amazed by our results this season - but there can be no let up - this league is relentless - Forest are an example - they are a good side with one world class player and a lot of excellent players - and still relatively in danger of relegation.
Eh????

Have you seen the prize money per place in the league?

Go until the very end and get every point we possibly can

Play our strongest team and try to get as many points as possible!

It’s not just tactics. If we ultimately want to build a squad that can challenge for Europe then we are short of at least 4 attacking players.

Finishing top 10 is a different level to finishing 15th when you are trying to attract talent

Wow

Pre-season is primarily for gaining fitness. Any changes in tactics should be decided now so that we can get in the players beforehand ( in an ideal world).
So you would rather piss about now and fall down the league when there is outside chance of getting in Europe ?? don’t think a manager who’s getting paid millions would risk losing his job doing this with next season in mind ? The time is now when your a manager nobody’s in the job long enough to plan for the future

So the OP stance is

- we don't have a hope of getting into Europe this season
- we should sacrifice points this season in order to experiment to improve our chances of success next season
- if we don't experiment now we stand still, and in standing still will go down
- if we get into Europe (we wont, remember, we dont have a hope) we will go close to getting relegated

Dreading the rest of this season and next now ffs :(

The only thing you have said which is correct is that standing still is regressing in which everyone knows.
The rest is your deliberate misinterpretation. You will know why you do som. It's not my problem.

No. They are playing very well. It s a rather stupid question, imho.
While I am delighted by where we are now, I feel we have somewhat overachieved. What I want is for us to push on to the mythical "next level" next season, which is by no means easy.

Who said piss about? You. Neither does experimenting and trying out new formations mean throwing away points.A new approach might result in success. Now would be the time when the pressure is off.

I’ve just done a table predictor thing and the good news is it looks like we’re finishing fifth. Mags 13th unlucky for them.
Forest relegated

Pick up as many points aa we can.
Not bothered about europe (but it would be nice)its just for every higher place we finnish in the league the more money we can spend on recruitment!Next season will be our biggest test and the extra money might just get another deal over the line!

Not sure how it will work though as those certain of a world cup place will i think play within themselves but that might be countered by those putting in extra effort to try to make a world cup squad.Personally i think we will finish with 50 points as a minimum to a max of around 56.Its just nice not to worry about relegation for once!
