4th test Manchester

Don't forget your pine cone ;)
I have said before fishing is my hobby, the number of times they get it wrong is so frustrating. I used to have a job and part of it was to visit customers to resolve issues, one of them was the super new Weather computer at Reading which cost millions, and they are still shite

I had to be weather aware for my work, we only needed to know what weather was around the area and not spot specific, if a front was coming through then within a few hours was good enough for us, same with strong winds, if they arrived a few hours early or later than forecast we weren't bothered. For spot locations, for example fishing ponds or sports venue you really need to have a more specific forecast which is more difficult. It is bloody infuriating when the forecast is set fair and it starts pissing down.
Some forecasts are excellent such as the Japanese and US typhoon/hurricane forecasts but unfortunately of no use for the cricket at Old Trafford!

England will bowl 1st if conditions are in Anderson's favour, England have a penchant for a chase, don't know why but it is Stokes preferred method!
Seven successful fourth innings chases under his captaincy and only two failures, one by a single run, might possibly give a hint.
We didn't get enough runs and lost the test. There is taking the initiative and on the flip side there is being brainless and reckless which is was it was. If we get a re-run we will get picked off
We had enough runs to be most likely winners. We didn’t have enough runs to be definite non-losers. Given when the match finished on day 5, more runs and more time in England’s second innings would have only made a draw more likely not a win.

Whether you like it or not, this team takes the first and goes for it. It will lose games. It’s a philosophy that needs to be tested on whether it produces more wins than losses. But it is the current philosophy beyond doubt. If the middle order had done better, Stokes wouldn’t have batted on with the tail for another hour/ fifty in the second innings to shut Australia out anyway, so it’s irrelevant what they could have done.

I hope people realise we are just going to go for it.

We are 2-1 down and with the weather need to be positive and go for a win.

That may and could be mean some high risk strategy that could really help us win the game and yes could also increase our chances of losing it.

Would rather we went that way and I am completely fine with the fact that playing this high risk strategy could lose us games, but as long as we winning more than we losing ( which we have under this new management) than totally fine with it.

I am completely onboard with this philosophy win or lose this test match.

Yeah I’m expecting the most aggressive we’ve played yet due to the weather.

I’m on board to be fair and it’s worth rolling the dice with the forecasted weather, than potentially drawing because of the weather.

Declaration some point today if we bat first, which will be interesting.

Their tails are up and I think we can put it on them a bit today and have a good chance if we are clinical in the field, which has been the biggest disappointment so far this series.

In the circumstances regarding weather I would say the vast majority would get it absolutely. I still don't accept the declaration on the first day in the first test being a good call. That's when the philosophy does me head in as it doesn't always have to be that way.

Agree but that's because it simply has to be done due to being 2-1 down and the weather forecast. We didn't need to do what we did in the first test though, that's the difference for me
