Apparently he was unaware that the whole thing was being broadcast live. Not a good idea to execute someone live on national TV.

I can remember watching the end of the seige on TV in the Chesters, when there was a bar and pool room at the front. With the lounge at the back.

Story that tickled me...

Hereford has a sprog clerk attached to them. The lads on the teams wanted to skiff him. They told him they were one bloke short for the assault so he’d have to come along too and fill in. They had him going through entry drills, room clearance drills etc until the last minute. Apparently he was game as a badger but went a little white when they told him it was a joke.

We played West Ham 12th May..the siege ended on the 5th May..West Ham won the FA Cup on the 10th.
