3rd test - Headingley

Each test match has been close and each test match could have gone either way as both teams on top in certain times in both matches.

So don’t understand based of that why the conclusion is ‘ it has 5 0 written all over it’

Normally for statements like that you would have expected one team to have totally dominated the other which has not been the case

England seem incapable of picking their strongest team. Chris Woakes should be nowhere near the test side and if Tongue is being dropped after one Ashes test despite being our best bowler and tail end batsman questions will be asked when we lose. They inevitably centre around the captain and coach or both

You're not banned from the 2nd test thread anymore you'll be pleased to know.
Khawaja, labuschagne,Warner,Carey, green twice and Cummins who's handy
Exactly. His pace has been down undoubtedly but he's came to the party.

He's got 10 wickets in 2 tests. Keep up that rate and it's 25 for the series which is excellent. Absolutely no reason to even think about dropping him.

Not mainly the tail either

Unless he could not back up o don’t get Tongue not playing. Woakes has not done anything for ages in a test and surely Lords was the place to play him.

Seems a bit of panic about the tail rather than taking 20 wickets.

Because of the captain playing with one leg really.

Ben said the team was picked based off what he would be able to bring to the side.
Probably made mistakes with selections here as today looks perfect for Jimmy. You also didn't play Woakes with his record at Lord's. Tongue might have been better at Edgbaston. Guess wood being crocked has got them muddled with plans. Not sure today is right for him.

Ben did that during his first stint iirc. Played Archer/Wood at Southampton and dropped broad. Then broad came in for wood at Manchester, when would have made more sense the other way around.
