3rd test - Headingley

Averages 35 at no.6 and we have a very long tail of which Stokes is our most skilled batsman when batting with the tail
At 6 he will regularly bat with the tail? It’s often the role of a middle order player. I’m not sure he is the best as well Bairstow has been pretty decent at it for England.

Bairstow is a better batsman. He may not play the swash buckling innings but is more consistent than Stokes

He will often be out by the time no.8 comes in

I've got a feeling the anthem might get booed. Hope I'm wrong and the crowd stick to dishing it out every single other minute of the game, but leave the anthem alone.
Nearly all the internationals I’ve been at have been the crowd getting stuck in but from angle of good natured fun with the players also giving a bit back when taking a catch or wicket and crowd happy to applaud good play but after the 2nd test I have a feeling it will be very different over the next few games.
I’d like to have seen rehan Ahmed given an opportunity rather than Ali being brought back into the fold and I think we’ve lacked real pace….losing wood and archer was a massive blow

Did headingley for one day game against Australia 2015, the western terrace was awful atmosphere towards their fielders
Of all venues week after their couldn’t be better/worse venue depending on your view while things are still tense
It has potential ti turn pretty ugly depending how game goes

Can one of the cricket experts please explain.

can we not get the ground staff to do something to the wicket to spoil the Aussie short ball theory?

I'm no expert but:

They could make it more bowler friendly, greener, rewards the bowlers for pitching it up more. It would probably suit both sets of bowlers but wouldn't help us to score runs quickly and take the game forward which is our mantra.
