It's not the central contracts that the's problem it's the ridiculous stuffing of the schedule with white ball cricket and the lack of respect for red-ball specialism shown by the selectors.

Smith should lose his job as well as Bayliss. I'd say Root too, but I don't really know if there is a credible alternative option.

To be fair, after this, for the sake of cricket, every single opener in this series should be put in the nets for the entire winter and be made to bat against brand new Duke balls until they can face them with some consistency.

On the other hand, now that the ball is over 50 overs old, Labuschagne could make a nuisance of himself in the morning and it could be a bleak day for English cricket.

It's different on tour mind even I know having only done Barbados. No one really gives a shit about the cricket. Off to Cape Town and can't wait

Don't envy the new coach at all. Got a lot of shit to sort out with not a lot to choose from. Somehow has to get these playing something like a Test side again

I don't the he does have to get these playing like a Test side. I think four or five of them should be out on their arse.

I wouldn't have Woakes, Buttler, Roy, or Denly in and there should maybe be a debate about Bairstow too. Burns and Leach are, at best, 6/10 players and Broad and Anderson - can they go on forever?

We're a shambles and best hope new faces are better.

Yeah mate I know done a few myself it’s more that the mrs family are South African so can’t let them beat us 😂
