Same, me n me dad ended up about 20 yards apart when Byrne scoredI remember getting onto the kop early with me Dad and being fascinated by the size of it. It was an absolute monster of a terrace in it's day.
Still got the Programme with Monty's autograph on the front. Was sat directly behind Sir Jimmy Monty in the Very back row of Main Stand..with @Onlyfoolsrushin and our dearly departed bro Decka...happy days
“When Atkinson crossed that ball it had thank you written all over it.”
Norwich v SAFC Hillsbrough
Got there about half an hour before KO. Remember being amazed at how steep our end was.
34 years, incredible.
Norwich had a good side then, in Europe IIRC bearing the likes of Bayern Munich.
I was so happy when we signed John Byrne, he had a little bit of swagger about him and always played well against us! And wore his shirt outside his shorts…very cool
Think I was about halfway up. Was getting vertigo.I always thought Atkinson was going to be a top player… how wrong was I, but he played brilliant in this game .
The KOP end that day was a sight to behold, I was in main stand
Was great standing on the Kop..a huge terrace.Got there about half an hour before KO. Remember being amazed at how steep our end was.
So much talent. But old school game soft as shite!I always thought Atkinson was going to be a top player… how wrong was I, but he played brilliant in this game .

Certainly remember the clock seeming to be stuck. But also remember me, my Dad, and my two brothers standing on our seats, hugging each other, and jumping around on the full time whistle. Seems impractical in reality, but that’s how I remember it. Great day.Ahhhh and that clock which seemed to be stuck on 87mins for about an hour it seemed .Those who were there know but what a cracking day.
Best ever atmosphere of any game I have been to!Memories of the day and cup run
