30,000+ season tickets sold

Easy worked out, Premier more attractive than the Championship.
Championship more attractive than the 1st division.
1st division more attractive than the 2nd division.
2nd division more attractive than Non league.
Non league.........
That's football for you.
Who'd thought eh?
Our attendance our games games has been remarkable. Don't listen to anyone otherwise mid to 35kn league one. Not many other teams hitting that.

Hard to believe how many people don't realise how popular PL football is nowadays, far far more than any other time in recent history. We almost never sold out the stadium in the 10 year run under Drumaville/Short, this year every game has either sold out or been as good as.

Midweek against Burnley in February, about as far from glamour as PL football can get - 46,370, and it was the away fans dragging that number down slightly.

It's not even really about Sunderland, look at crowds at West Ham and Leeds in recent years. The tickets for Saudi games are apparently a nightmare to get hold of.

Baffled at how many people on this board are seemingly seething at us doing well and having demand to be in the ground again. I'm convinced some were happier when we were absolutely shite so they could have more to complain about.
It’s because they’ve sat through the “shit times” and don’t think anybody should be allowed ti watch now other than them

Sad as fuck

Should have gone when there was ample opportunity to build them up in Championship then.

Why should those of us who stuck by the team and earned our points have to change so part timers who never gave a shit before can start getting to away games.
Should just give you a medal, an OBE or at least compo

It really is pathetic. People have to try and put a downer on everything or create one where it doesn’t exist.

Probably the same ones who posted that they were done with the club a few seasons ago . Now they’re “screaming” on a waiting list…..

I do think there needs to be a better system for away tickets. Unless you have BCP you can't get them, but you can't get BCP unless you get away tickets.

BCP should be given out in better ways.
Disagree, unless there was a very small % became a ballot in place of any hospitality type tickets. I say this as someone who used to have enough loyalty points for any away game I wanted because I put the money and miles in, I never missed an away derby from 2005 until this season’s (bar one in 2012 I missed and can’t remember why). I went to loads in League One and all the doldrum years before it in the Prem when we were crap and Championship and double relegation. Due to life circumstances (a new house, expensive wedding, multiple stag dos) my away games curtailed off a bit around the first season back in the Championship under Mowbray, this has meant my loyalty points have gradually reduced and I’m currently at a threshold just below where most aways sell out. I’ll be in an even worse position next season. However, our system is fair and rewards the ones most recently putting the miles and money in so I have no complaints and just have to get on with it. I would be surprised if this demand sustained even if we remain established in the Premier League, which will hopefully give opportunities to build up points again soon.

well said, having said that i did enjoy the aways days in the 3rd and 2nd divisions.
i always said i wasn't fussed about getting in the premier league but it was for selfish reasons for the aways. as soon as watson scored at wembley i changed my mind immediately :D it's great for the club, the players, the fans and the city. there's a buzz all over the place and it's brilliant.

This is it for me. I live in London and it’s £60 ish to get up for a home game when I’m not in Yorkshire. I’ve had SCs before, but had to give it up when it got too expensive for something I’d rarely use.

But my brother and I are on the waiting list. I’m planning on getting a season ticket and selling it back to the club for a massive chunk of the season (and pass on the rest to mates/ family). So that the season after it’ll be a bit cheaper (and so on).

I just want a guaranteed seat for Mags, New Years game, Boxing Day, and a few others. Also obviously a possibility of Europe in the future etc. As well as a chance to build away points, since they’re like gold dust these days and you can’t ask for spares on here anymore.

Good for the club, they get my guaranteed income up front, then can sell on my ticket for a profit each week. Good for me, as I get what I want - but also get that sense of identity back.
I have a card for myself and bought another as I had bought 14 tickets for kids and friends so a season card made sense.

Really glad I did, it has only been unused a couple of times by the two kids (who live in London and Manchester)

None of the three of us qualify for away tickets but we accept that the current system is completely fair. We do get to a handful of away games but via home tickets, which is shit but no real alternative (especially now with the ID checks which have closed down other sources of tickets wink, wink).

Will end up being a rule coming in at some point about only selling it x amount of times a season. Guarantee it, same as a the membership schemes.

All a matter of time
Correct and rightly so

Ludicrous to have part timers buy a season card to secure a seat for the handful of games they can be arsed with and then sell it back for the others

The only kicker there is, doesn't the game have to be a "sell out" to be able to stick it on resale and the club also includ hospitality in that?

There may be a scenario in which many home games are not "sell outs" because there's a handful of ridiculously priced hospitality tickets available, and as a result you can't stick the ticket up for resale?
