30,000+ season tickets sold

Where did I say this like?

Matter of time until our fans have meltdowns over being on the season ticket waiting list while others have one and don't go.

If this season so far has taught us anything, its that everybody wants their cake and to eat it.
I dont agree (because of what I’ve said) but I understand the sentiment.

If that happened I’ll just get a mate to scan it in for me for the games I can’t attend(/ resell) to get me upto the number, and it’ll be empty - which is shite for everyone and exactly why the club probably won’t do it.

I want away tickets, so this is my only route forward for the moment.

This demand won't last forever either. The few who jumped on after the playoffs will soon get sick, some probably already have. Even finishing 8-10th every season will get boring for some, despite it being a great achievement.

You'll be fine longer term imo

You’re starting to sound like @Be Here Now 😂😂😂

I do think there needs to be a better system for away tickets. Unless you have BCP you can't get them, but you can't get BCP unless you get away tickets.

BCP should be given out in better ways.

 christ.

Just reality though isn't it? When the renewals came out, there was already people on social media saying team aren't worth the increase etc. Couldn't have achieved anymore this season.

Give some to those who do their nana's shopping and feed stray cats imo

Baffled at how many people on this board are seemingly seething at us doing well and having demand to be in the ground again. I'm convinced some were happier when we were absolutely shite so they could have more to complain about.

It is very odd.

They go on as though it is only Sunderland where crowds fluctuate depending on how well the team are doing.

High demand for tickets means things are going well once again. We could be on the brink of another good era in the history of SAFC and that means extra big crowds if capacity allows. It was exactly the same when things were good at Roker Park, it is the nature of football.

Should have gone when there was ample opportunity to build them up in Championship then.

Why should those of us who stuck by the team and earned our points have to change so part timers who never gave a shit before can start getting to away games.

The ticketing situation in general this season is very very different since we were last in the PL. ID checks, a certain % of capacity at home having to be kept for match day sales etc. It’s a big learning curve for the club and the fans and I’m fairly certain we’ll see widespread change regarding ticketing both home and away in the close season. The club have made mistakes and plenty of them on the ticketing side of things but I’m pretty sure rules, regulations and everything else will be put in place properly. We’ve barely got a ticket office which still needs to be addressed as it’s backed up by AskSAFC emails from people who couldn’t care less.

It’s our first season back, we’re achieving great things on the pitch and plenty to look forward to next season yet all people on here want to do is moan at every little thing they get chance to.

100% if SAFC sent an email to all 15k asking for them to pay £5 via the link provided to secure their place on a waiting list for next season the uptake will wont be anywhere near 15k.

when it comes to people putting hands in their pockets no matter how small the fee...some suddenly don't want a ticket anymore.

I organsised a stag doo to liverpool once and had 56 names on the list of people wanting to go....asked for £10 deposit each ....that list went from 56 to 26
That’s just humans yet when a waiting list is talked about for other clubs it’s taken as gospel. Sunderland fans have some weird as fuck takes like. 100k waiting list but ten to a house man I bet it’s only really 100 man. Ask them to pay a fiver nee one will turn up. Or the rumoured extension, here man we divvent need it there were two seats six rows away from me empty means we divvent need anymore seats it’s a waste of money and what about mike from Gateshead that will mock us on twitter if we don’t sell out for a third round league cup game. Let’s reduce the capacity man.

There's no fairer way, the more you go to over the past few seasons the better chance you have of getting one. If you go to all or most of them you are guaranteed a ticket. The only other thing is being addressed by the club by the looks of it, people getting tickets with no intention of going to keep the points up and then not going or passing the ticket on. This will take a few years to balance itself out. Although I doubt it's happening as much this season as everyone will want to go now we are in the premier league.

We could barely get 40,000 when doing well in the Championship and now we suddenly have 62,000 fans.
Annoys me, that.
Easy worked out, Premier more attractive than the Championship.
Championship more attractive than the 1st division.
1st division more attractive than the 2nd division.
2nd division more attractive than Non league.
Non league.........
That's football for you.

This is it for me. I live in London and it’s £60 ish to get up for a home game when I’m not in Yorkshire. I’ve had SCs before, but had to give it up when it got too expensive for something I’d rarely use.

But my brother and I are on the waiting list. I’m planning on getting a season ticket and selling it back to the club for a massive chunk of the season (and pass on the rest to mates/ family). So that the season after it’ll be a bit cheaper (and so on).

I just want a guaranteed seat for Mags, New Years game, Boxing Day, and a few others. Also obviously a possibility of Europe in the future etc. As well as a chance to build away points, since they’re like gold dust these days and you can’t ask for spares on here anymore.

Good for the club, they get my guaranteed income up front, then can sell on my ticket for a profit each week. Good for me, as I get what I want - but also get that sense of identity back.

That’s exactly what I’d like to do 🙏

Just renewed ours today. Looking forward to what we can achieve next season while enjoying the last few weeks of this season play out.

I bet more than 62k different supporters attended at least a few games in the championship though.

A better product and standard of football is obviously more attractive.

It’s similar to when people love a band until they become commercially successful. It’s a tiny bit superior.
