And been dropped by both Sussex and Essex in the last 12 months for off the field problems plus a suspended ban for aggression/intimidation on the field. Well he's obviously bouncing back from it on the pitch this season. I'm fully aware of what he has done, and it's an issue.

But he's the only spinner we've got though.

Also Broad has a knee injury he has been managing since the start of the last Ashes which will require surgery after the India series (We have a long gap till the world cup, hence the reasoning behind 'managing' it)

I honestly would give Kerrigan another chance under Moore's, the lad had a shocker on debut but i think that was just nerves same as Robson, his county record is the best over the last 4 years and he will have learnt a hell of alot from that 1 test (do not say 'it's that he can't bowl')

Cook's position is untenable. Completely out of form with the bat and making mistake after mistake in his captaincy that hascost us matches. If he leads us into the India series, I fear a whitewash.

The only reason he has clung on is the lack of strong alternatives, partly because senior players have been forced out or succombed to the pressure of playing far too much first class cricket.

To be honest, I would be tempted to draft in Colly or Gale as 'specialist captain' for the India series.
