Thought the difference was real genuine quality in final 3rd. McGinn, Watkins and Rogers just had that constant threat and quality, sometimes we lack at times.

Yes. That goes without saying. But on Sunday it was the first XI that did the damage. Our bench had a better impact than theirs. 2 goals.2 of their subs got a goal and an assist aswel. In general, Villa are ahead of us as a club and a squad imo.
I was talking about squad depth tbh kike, they had better options on the bench than us in general. They had a goal and an assist from 2 of their subs, 2 of their players contributed aswel.Yes. The very top would be champions league winners. I best get saving then!100% mate. Was talking to someone who works at the club yesterday and they were saying he wants to go to the very top KLD.
They have a very good manager, and a few years ahead of us in the premier league to mould and recruit their squad. I was in a corporate box for the game thanks to a mates dad, perks of living in Brum. Obviously majority were Villa except me and two others. Very complimentary to us at the end, to think this is our first season up there. We have been magnificent so far, so f***ing proud to support the lads.2 of their subs got a goal and an assist aswel. In general, Villa are ahead of us as a club and a squad imo.
There’s such an imbalance in the league financially that a good solid run such as Villa is having is hard to keep up. Each season there’s a team that makes a solid run for the top 4/5 and then they fade in the ensuing seasons.
I’m no conspiracy theorist but it seems the league and Sky want certain clubs at the top.
Your post was in two parts. One about 2-3yrs time whereby we have their depth. The other about it being the difference yesterday. It wasn’t. It was the 3-1 lead they had before any sub was made that was the difference. Our bench had a bigger impact than theirs.I was talking about squad depth tbh kike, they had better options on the bench than us in general. Yes, the options Emery had available on their bench compared to Harrison Jones for example on ours. Their subs made a similar impact....they combined to get the winner.Your post was in two parts. Ours made a bigger impact on the day. 2 subs 2 goals. Won 2-1 once subs were made.Yes, the options Emery had available on their bench compared to Harrison Jones for example on ours. Their subs made a similar impact....they combined to get the winner.

Villa are probably now the 6th of the "big 6", although its probably turned too a 5 now. They need too start regularly qualifying for champions league and win a few trophies to make that step. For us, the next 2-3 years has to be looking at consistently finishing top 10 and challenging for Europe. That's why for me, if we could get there, we grab it with both hands. European qualification, especially consistent over a couple years, elevates the club to the next level. People and players start looking at us in a different manner and have a different view of us. That's what then makes you a "big club". Arsenal, Man City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and probably now Villa, I can see them being the top 6 for a few years now. We need to make sure we're then consistently in the next group and regularly in Europe. Amazing to be having these conversations when trips to Fleetwood and Accrington are still pretty fresh in the memories.
