What was pardews when they finished sixteenth then started next season badly? Remember pardewout.com and all that stupidity. Seem to remember the mags insisting he was taking them down yet were tenth when he left. Much like Bruce he had earned more time but we pressed panic button instead.
Okay mate. I think we're getting off topic. Bruce is history and it's been done to death.

Admirable.

But futile given the current situation. There's no real comparison with Murray.

How not? Arguably the main difference is that Murray left a legacy - the AoL and SoL. What's Shorts legacy? Appointing a fascist, covering the tracks of a nonce and buying a player we don't own?

Eh? He had our third most successful season in 50 years...?
Sounds great when you put it like that but on closer inspection his record was pretty much what it was at Wigan 28% win ratio. He wasn't a team builder as someone else has said today and he went on long winless runs. Fuck me it's like expecting Dobbin the carthorse to win the derby. Mr Mag :)

Mag behaviour 'sack the board' etc..,any 'fan' who turns up for this is an utter embarrassment, sad times.
Genuine question, when would it become acceptable? When we're bottom 6 no the championship in 12 months or shouldn't we still be grateful that we have a club?

I'm not protesting, just curious.

I don't think we had won all year at the SOL when he was sacked. I think there comes a time, when you have to say enough is enough with a manager. Problem is you cant say that to an owner. If he gets bloody minded then it is curtains just like what happened to villa.

What is more sad is what we've had to put up with over the years. other clubs have had protests and action was taken when you sit back and don't do anything week in week out it signals to the board you are content with the way things are run, are you? They will only listen if you shout up, there is nothing wrong with voicing your concerns, it won't make you a mag don't worry.

What happened at villa is happening to us right now.

Even the traditional voting with your feet doesn't work as crowd receipts are negligeable these days

And there's reasons to think he should have been sacked when he did. But it's silly to suggest he was a horrific appointment or whatever you were getting at.

We sang sack the board in 2006 before the first time Newcastle fans had protested Ashley. Food for thought.

Good idea. He's currently trying to sell the club so protesting may force him into trying to sell the club...........
Not sure what some think this will gain mate, other than make us look like bigger tits and put an even more negative vibe around the club. Protesting for the bloke who wants to leave, to leave......... erm aye makes perfect sense

I can only presume you never attended Roker Park at any point of your life. If you did, you will remember that 'sack the board' was a regular theme, lost count the amount of times I stood outside flinging stones at the boardroom window protesting against Murray.

There is never really a good time to start, but I imagine when we are bottom of the Championship it will be too late. Usually best to protest when you still have something to lose.

Well we'd beat Wigan at end of tenth placed season and Stoke 4-0 or 4-1 a month or so before he got sacked so that SOL remark is incorrect mind.
