You surely still don't think this do you? f***ing hell nobody has come remotely close to finishing tenth since we came back up either before or since. His net expenditure was decent and not once were we in bottom 3 while he was here.
Of all the sackings he's made you choose this one to use to pat short on back!
It was a poor sacking at time and now with benefit of hindsight a ridiculous one.
 I'm getting accused of being Short's biggest fan, then along comes Bruce's biggest fan.

Yes, I do think it was the right decision, he was taking us down. Just because we have employed equally a poor managers since, doesn't excuse him. He has proved since with Hull, that even if backed, he will relegate a club, just like he did at Birmingham.

Would it? he's trying to sell the club and be away, so why would he?

How do you know he is?
He's never actually came out and said that though, he's never explained how bad the finances are etc. He lets his managers stand alone to take the flack and generally sacks them when the fans divert attention upstairs.

Link me up?
Was in the Echo and Mirror IIRC. Trying to respond to this thread quickly so will find links later if you can't.

Regarding the PDC stuff if you look on here at threads when his name was first was linked to the club and before he was thought to be a serious contender there was a lot of opposition to him. Again, I'll find them later. If anyone else on here has either of these things to hand I'd appreciate it if they post them but if not I'll do it sometime this evening when I'm back.

Time to tell Short that he needs to go. I think all of us are sad that it has come to this but it's becoming increasingly clear that he's mismanaged the club to the point where relegation isn't our biggest worry - financial solvency is.

We've been through it all before but he's repeatedly left managers feeling their hands are tied and has made awful decisions that leave us in a perilous position.

Protesting may not help - but it's about time he hears the frustration of the support. It could well result in him acting - he wants rid of the club and is holding out for a higher price. Action might result in him dropping that price enough to get the sale through so we can rebuild for next year.

Let's keep it outside the stadium - the last things the players need is a hostile atmosphere when they're presumably low on confidence as it is, but I for one do not want to sit on my hands until the end of the season, knowing all that we do now about the mismanagement of the club, having done nothing.

The fans are the one real thing that matter to me about this club, and I'm sick of us being misled and manipulated by an owner who clearly has no interest anymore in our success.
Helmet.

Does any chairman or owner, tell everyone and anyone the ins and outs of their clubs finances?

wasn't Byrne already at the club and promoted to ceo after the other fella left. she was apparently very well thought within the football cicles but she didn't half make a pigs ear out of the AJ incident. PDC was a strange one, but would have suspected the lambasting we got over that. yet when he goes back to west ham he is a hero in the press.

She was appointed Club Secretary in 2007 under Quinn's watch then appointed CEO in 2011 under Short's watch. She should never have been given that position, had absolutely zero experience of running a multi million pound business and she was effectively learning on the job, the way she dealt with the Di Canio fiasco still sends chivers down my spine, so far out of her depth it's untrue.

I didn't want PDC, and thought the fascism stuff was pretty poor, but the main reason he was a terrible appointment was his managerial record alone - and the way he alienated people at Swindon.

I think it was said at the time to be thinking outside the box appointment. A lot of the football circle spoke very highly of him. I think his ex owner said he was a good manager but the hardest thing was cleaning up the earthquake after him. I didn't want him or poyet to be honest. Oneil, Bruce and keane I was delighted in

I would say they come out and say when they aren't looking to sell aye, more often than not.

It's born shorts style though, as usual he will let those beneath him take the stick. If he does want to stick by by moyes he has to speak.

International break will be interesting

He had 2 consecutive seasons, where we never won a game in 15 and before he got sacked, we were dire.

just hire that plane you monkey mackems use to send them cringworthy messages over SJP,with "short out" on it.

make sure it's for the first half, nee **** left in the Silence O Library after 60 minutes.....CHERTLE!!!

He got Hull and Brum straight back up as well and as I said we were never once in bottom 3 in his tenure.
All this he was taking us down is pure guesswork. The same has been said of poyet and even Sam last season and both kept us up.
I'm not getting into another long drawn out debate about this as done to death but out of all shorts sackings to choose this one is ridiculous.

I've read all the stuff in the media and it is nothing more than speculation IMO

We don't do things like that, very Maggish post but then ...:)

Same. No criticism of Bruce, Keane or MoN from me. I thought they were all great appointments.

Sorry like, but some our fans are desperate for the club to make public statements and the likes.
