🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 England v New Zealand 🇳🇿 4th ODI - Lord's

Still unsure on livingstone. Feel like he tries to hit every ball too hard and ends up just being a slogger to cow corner and missing out on lots of easier runs

No he is not Buttler is, Buttler is our best player easily at 50 over and 20 over cricket.

However agree Root should play

Has to be now surely
Disagree re ODI cricket and Buttler - he's decent but isn't game changing in that format. Roots ability to just rotate strike and score so quickly without any risk at all, especially against spin, is critical for us

Isn’t game changing????

He has something like 5 out of the top 10 of fastest 100s ever by an English player in 50 over cricket ( including the fastest 3 ever!!)

Buttler is about as game changing a player you can get in 50 over cricket.

Totally get your point with Root vital in this format and does score without risk.

But incredibly wrong choice of words to describe Buttler as not game changing!!!

Average of 42 while striking at nearly 120 over 170 games and not a game changer. Heard it all now

In one off games on occasion, sure. But to be our "best player" you have to be a hell of a lot more consistent than that, and deliver a hell of a lot more. Root has 50% more 50s, 50% more hundreds, averages 11 more and has played a handful less games than Jos. Not a chance Buttler is our best ODI player. Also averages less than Jonny Bairstow, with the same amount of hundreds in nearly twice as many games as Jonny.

Best T20 player, without a shadow of a doubt, but not ODI.

Jonny Bairstow average of 46 while striking over 105 with as many hundreds. Root 16 hundreds in less games. Best player

I know unbelievable and he is still arguing now sometimes I have to double check the posts to check people have actually said something

I would go as far as saying the very definition of a ‘ game changer’ is Jos Buttler!!

Next to that in the dictionary is his name!!!

Buttler never bats higher than 5 in ODIs, I bet most his career has been at 6 and 7 anarl. How in the hell is he supposed to have more hundreds than lads batting at 1, 2 and 3?
