He wasn't world class, zidane was world class midfielder and he was no where near him. Veira at arsenal was better also. Like I said he was a good solid midfielder for Liverpool but done nothing for england as a international.

If “World Class” means anything, it’s that a player would walk into any side in world football. Gerrard 100% could’ve done that.

The majority of world class English players did nothing for England.

Always baffles me when people leave Shearer out of Premier League XIs when he's the highest goalscorer by a long margin.
 
He did terribly at Villa. That said, Lampard had a mediocre managerial career until he went to Coventry. Maybe he just needs the right club.
