England v West Indies

Watson, Ponting, Haddin and Hussey would all get into South Africa's side and would all be pushing for place in India's batting line up.

Just because batsmen aren't in this holy grail of the top 10 doesn't mean they aren't quality players.

no they wouldnt

Smith
Amla
De Villiers
Kallis

you on the herbals

and that just goes to show you need to watch cricket to appreciate how players have improved or fallen by the wayside as Clarke and Katich had done through injury or Ponting through age

I'm not surecive got the heart to make the point that a cricket watcher might have seen those signs before the Ashes and had they done so wouldnt have used Australia in Australia against Clarke, Ponting etc as the only true test.

However I might as well ;)

There's little between Amla and Watson as far as recent test records go so I'll give you that as Amla is in superb form at the minute. However, Hussey is better than Duminy and Haddin is superior to Boucher. So that's three or four of the top seven would get into South Africa's side. It's hardly laughable.

Quite happy to admit it was an oversight on my part. However, is there any difference betwen you slagging Prior off and what i said. We both eered in our judgements and changed our minds

Ponting has one test 100 in 2.5 years. He would not get in the SA side.

There is a big difference. I didnt change my mind at all over Prior. I stated that his performances in the WI where he broke the world record on byes conceded, beating a 46 year old into second place, was comparable to Steven Hawking. I stated that if he didnt improve massively quickly he couldnt be perservered with. He did improve massively quickly.

With you - you stated your entire reputation on one line of argument over a year. No-one has put forward a point with more certainty or conviction that the true judgement of Anderson was in Australia. Your change in stance is for no other reason than Jimmy was excellent.

England have played 6 games in this group and could have quite easily won all six or lost all six, so a 3-2-1 record is probably fair enough.

sums up the leader of our attack, brilliant one game, non existent the next.

Inconsistent, which is why we will never be number 1 in the world in any format until Jimmy is dropped

Shame the "world class" Tremlett couldn't hammer another nail into Jimmy's ODI coffin yesterday.

aye, bit harsh on the lad to bring him in to the w/c having played no warm up games in the sub continent.

its the same reason Morgan cant buy a run, no practice

dont worry about facts though

Lucky comeback like, take away two decent bowling efforts vs SA and WI, we'd be long gone!

But if my auntie and a cock she'd be my uncle.

How was it lucky? They worked hard for it and got those wickets in both of those games.

Every game we have played has been tight and this should stand is in good stead for the rest of the competition. We have shown the mental toughness most times to get a positive result. If we didn't then we wouldn't have 7 points.

Morgan scored 63 in the last game ffs

How many warm up games had Tredwell and Wright played?, probably 1 at a stretch, and Tremlett played plenty games in Australia where they didn't.

Tredwell is a spinner FFS - sub continent wickets are tailor made for spinners

What other scores Morgan got

Morgan has played one other game, yesterday where he scored 7. Keep up at the back.

So what if they are tailor made, if the pitch was quick and bouncy would you have expected Tremlett to take 4 for 40 given his so called lack of preparation?

would certainly have stood more chance

the rest of our seam attack has been spanked for 300 in half the games and they have had practice

Tremlett has had as much, if not practise as the others and went at almost 10 an over. One rule for one and one for another as always with you.

what he has had practice games on sub continet pitches which as you would say is a silly comparison to make because they are so different to aussie pitches, or is it one rule for you and one for me ;)
