England v West Indies

what can you say just what can you say. We still might have to go through two other games of pain before knowing if we're through. Crazy!

We're making the World Cup interesting at the very least.

What is the other game that we're depending on? Other than Bangladesh vs SA?

So basically India and SA both losing will mean we're out.

Even if Bangladesh win India can still save us by beat WI.

Think Tredwell has just ended Yardy's international career for the foreseeable future. He's turned more balls today than Yardy has in 30 ODIs.

if Bangladesh win, then as long as India beat WI we would go through otherwise it would go down to NRR between us and India

Bangladesh have to beat SA and Windies need to beat India for us to go out now.

Nope as it would go down to NRR between us and India. Still 3 chances of staying in the tournament

The ICC will want us to stay in the tournament

What do i know about cricket.

Brilliant game though. Keep fingers crossed now.

With the current NRR, Windies would have to destroy India for it to come into play, wouldn't they? There's a 0.7 difference currently.

I'd expect India to be looking to put in a top quality performance after losing to South Africa.

still not impossible. I would expect SA and India to win tbh but still a posability I will be tearing my hair out if it comes to NRR

If we had other wicket taking option then Yardy would be a good pick as he does a good job of stoping batsmen score. Still may see us play 3 spinners yet

yawn yawn

going from memory of what the Aussies use to be like and what their pitches use to be like, certainly werent bowl first strips

 In 4 out of 5 tests in these 'difficult bowling conditions' England managed:

517/1
620/5
513 all out and
644 all out

Without looking at the figures, I dont think he's done that in this tournament, or at 50 over cricket really, although he is a good T20 player for us.

Dont go bringing facts to the argument.

Left work at 200-6 and had given up hope, last thing I expected was a win from there.

Result will gloss over a poor performance from England and an even worse one from WI.

The thing is it's not just this england management team is it? We've consistently been a poor ODI side for years. When I watch a team like India blasting away at the start and put nigh on 100 on during the first 10 overs and then I watch England piss about for the first 15 it's truly shocking.

Maybe we ought to wise up to the fact that the ECB don't put as much effort into the One Day game as they do the test.

I would doubt that India have a much different team from ODI's to tests so why can't the England team adapt??

Nor should they. As exciting as some of our WC matches have been doesn't make the short game worth the ECB wasting more time over. I had to miss a lot of the game today, but when it started to look certain that the Windies would win, I couldn't help but start thinking it would be good that the lads could get a bit more rest before the important stuff against India this summer.

As has been mentioned, I'd be happy to see us fuck ODIs off completely, and you can chuck T20 in as well. At least with T20 it's all done with quicker and better for pleasing the impatient fans, but it's still a distraction from the proper game.

I just wish there was a practical way of doing a test cricket World Cup.
