James Anderson Watch in Australia

No great achievment against this poor Aussie side though, ey?

If the Aussie side are so poor that Jimmy gets a decent haul of wickets against them, then why would that have stopped us winning The Ashes?

If Jimmy played, are we good enough to win The Ashes? Yes or no?

You are one of the worst arguers ever to grace the SMB. You're all caveated out to the point where you disprove your own arguments yet use that information and opinion to back up your previous misguided effort.

sorry mate no idea who you are but feel free to jump on the bandwagon

been in the test side a year and only bowled at clubbies and fraudsters yet still has more wickets than someone in his 9th year as a test cricket, who incidentally is having a bloomin marvellous tour according to most on here

According to Geoff Boycott, the media and almost every cricket follower in the civilised world bar you.

But no one has said Anderson is having a bloomin marvelous tour though. He's been consistent and took some crucial wickets at key stages. The Perth pitch didn't really suit him and most on here have said he didn't have his best game there; but his economy rate was still very low so even when he's not taking wickets he's building pressure.

When Finn has bowled its released all of the pressure and if we take away those 3 wickets he burgled at the end of the Aussie innings in the first test his average would be up in the 40's with an economy rate of 4+. Those 3 wickets mean nowt in the grand scheme of things.

Jimmy has been consistent, the fact is he still isnt good enough to lead the attack which is why we will end up losing the Ashes. We need to win two tests IMO and we wont.

Im waiting for posters like Rentaghost to start bemoaning the Aussies for doctoring the pitches to lessen Swann's impact

p.s. dont forget who told you Swann would struggle before the series started

sorry mate no idea who you are but feel free to jump on the bandwagon

Hes right though - coming into the series:

"Just wait until Jimmy bowls against top quality Aussie batsmen in their own back yard - carted all over Australia - 0/120 bright blue skies" followed by umpteen smilies at the pure excitement of it coming true

when it doesnt happen its because they arent really great, they are all out of form etc. You might have had a bit credibility if you had said you quite fancied Jimmy to do OK in Aus because of those reasons before a ball was being bowled.

No idea who I am? I'm somebody posting on a forum. If you think you're anything more than that then you're even more f***ing deluded than I ever thought. Who the fuck do you think you are?

Bandwagon? Just because you spout utter shite and nobody agrees, along with the fact that you couldn't win an argument against a vegetable, does not mean there is a bandwagon. You're really not that important.

Are you going to answer any of the questions I posed originally?

nah, Il respond to those who Ive engaged in debate with over a long period of time, not some upstart ive never heard of who wants to join in. If I post such shite, why do you waste your time. Theres plenty of posters who post shite on PF, I dont try and get in a discussion with them, I just move onto the next thread, you should try it

As I have said, I didnt realise the Aussies were as bad as what they were. I also didnt appreciate it would have been pissing down in Australia so much before the Ashes started

So you can't answer the questions can you?

Can Rentaghost or someone like that just copy and paste what i've said then he'll have to irk out of that too.

Thanks for calling me an upstart by the way.

Funnily enough i've heard of you, and everybody said you were a cunt.

there you go then. toddle off onto the next thread

the same Boycott who said Anderson wasnt at his best in the last test

From Boycotts review of the Perth test from the Telegraph:

"It was a good effort by the England seam bowlers to keep going on a flat pitch with bounce but no real encouragement whatsoever of swing and seam. I thought Chris Tremlett and James Anderson bowled very well in the heat. Steven Finn got three expensive wickets and looked tired at times. Strangely, Andrew Strauss was reluctant to bowl the number one spinner in the world, Graeme Swann, who has had difficulty bowling at Mike Hussey."

Candy off baby ;-)

It won't count for a reason he's thinking up now.

verbally said on TMS that Anderson was off key @ Perth in comparison to previous two tests

Pulled straight from the 'in case Jimmy does well' computer file ;-)

Thought so

Im not sure how we are suppose to know Clarke for example would spend the entire series hobbling round his crease with a bad back

If we lose the Ashes, are you still gonna be saying Jimmy done well??

as anderson ever lost you money EB?

not at all. I dont rate the guy, he is the Danny Collins of the England team.

Tries hard, has improved over time, but his best is still pretty ordinary.

Give others a try, ala Tremlett, who nobody on this board was backing for an England call during the summer, and he has come in and delivered.

If we lose the Ashes were down to 5th, yet we have been playing good cricket for the last 18 months or so................how long do you keep persisting with someone who has been a regular without ever setting the world alight if the aim is to be number 1 in the world nad were still nowhere near the top sides and are now ogoing down the rankings rather than up if we lose the Ashes

We are 3 tests into 5. If Jimmy performs broadly the same in the last two tests but we lose them because our batsmen bat as they did in the second innings in perth then i'll say he had a good series. If he bowls crap in the next two matches i'll say so - i've no problem in telling the truth.

it seems a contradiction though, that anderson is ranked at the highest, he has been in his career.

his spell at brisbane, where somehow hussey and haddin survived, was one of the best spells of bowling, you could see.

his fielding is pretty sharp as well and up to 12 months or so back, he held the record for most innings, without a duck.

he is no hadlee or mcgrath but he is a quality bowler and he will be in the side, when fit, for a long time yet
