I would agree that he bowls less 4 balls now
Your points that he relies on conditions too much were perfectly valid then and still are to some degree. You have just always over egged the pudding.
Its obvious hes going to go all around the park tommorrow but if he does and i'm not on here to take my punishment in my defence i'm at CentreParcs![]()
warm up game vs Western Australia
Match figures - 1 wicket for 85 runs
Avg per wicket - 85.00
Weather - blue skies, around 23 degrees
Test match vs Australia
Match figures - 4 wickets for 51 runs
Avg per wicket - 12.7
Weather - blue skies, around 33 degrees
Series figures 6/165 - keep it going Jimmy everyone is behind you.
happy to admit he has exceeded my expectations thus far and is having a far better series than I thought he would have
However, in light of your comments stating that spinners generally struggle in Australia, why did you pick Swann as your bowler of the series and not pick Jimmy.
If you behind him that much and if he is the leader of our attack, surely a logical choice as your bowler of the series??
double standards??
Jimmy has surprised me also. However ive never had Anderson down as a fantastic leader of the England attack just as a bowler worthy of his place and certainly not a figure of ridicule. Ive expected the wickets to be shared around in Australia and I chose Swann thinking he will chip in and may have a particularly good test in Sydney.
so you share the same opinion of him as I do. Limited bowler who has exceeded expectations and who hasnt but may in time lose the tag of a one tricky pony
still surprised that having posted stats about how Murali, Harbajahan amongst others have performed in Ause, you went for a spinner. Seems a bit contradictory.
I went for Broad, as I dont rate Jimmy that much, and thought Swann would struggle. I maybe a lot of things, but id like to think im consistent in my thinking, even if sometimes I maybe wrong
God no. Thats a revised opinion of yours from joke of a bowler, shouldnt be in the team, should be replaced by Saj Mahmood. Jimmy has always been worth his place in the England team and has improved a lot in the last year giving the batsmen less scoring opportunities. Good bowler and certainly we dont have players waiting in the wings that are better. With Swann - i just think hes a good bowler, will bowl a lot of overs in a 4 man attack and take wickets. By the end of the series if he isnt our top wicket taker he wont be far off.
well he has a 1 in 3 chance as Broad, Jimmy and him wont get dropped in a 5 test series whereas Finn might. Hardly a bold prediction

So i'm stupid for selecting Swann because Aussie pitches dont suit spin and Murali and Harby have struggled yet its 'hardly a bold prediction'
Yet you choose a 6ft 5 fast bowler on pitches that traditionally suit them.
f***ing bizarre![]()
Aussie tracks are normally fast and bouncy, hence why I went for Broad
your inconsistent, when Swann struggles, you highlight other spinners that have struggled, which is why I remain suprised that you plumped for Swann
It is a bold prediction as the stats illustrate that spinners struggle. I really am struggling to comprehend from day to day what your opinions are on spinners in Australia
A minute ago it was 'hardly a bold prediction' and now it isFinger spinners generally find Australia a difficult place to bowl. I have still selected Swann to be our top wicket taker here because i think he is our best bowler and will still take wickets in Australia. I'm not sure what is difficult to comprehend about that mind.

its like saying Chelsea is a graveyard to get a result but backing the lads to win there.....contradiction in terms
anyhows they will play Monty at Sydney so Monty will get most of the wickets there![]()
