I have never been part of our casuals/firm or whatever they are called however I have a few stories to tell about certain games.

Here goes in no order

When we drew 2-2 against Man Utd at SOL there was a few scuffles outside. (2000ish?)

Everytime we have played Boro at SOL there has been a bit trouble at the end.

Apart from the pitch inavasion at scum park in 1990 I have seen little trouble in the fixture

Away at Palace (play offs)gme there was hell on when their fans came over to our disabled fans. Some of our lads ran onto the pitch to confront them.

Spurs away when Makin scored, I have never seen so many SAFC fans full of blood

Carlisle away in the cup (mid 90's?) before the game a gang of SAFC fans outside looking for bother

Stoke away in the late 80's at their old stadium, we ran them when we were let out at the end of the game. No more than 1500 SAFC fans there that day.

I was threatened when I sat in the home end at Norwich when we had 250 tickets

Notts Forest away (1994?) last game of the season when they had gained promotion there was a bit fighting before the game.

Southend away the other year after the match these kids wanted to fight with us in a pub. A few from smb were in the pub IIRC inc Catryan.

Carlisle at home when the Roker End was 50% B&W shirts

Pompey at home at RP when we won 4-1 and Pompey missed out on promotion/play offs?

Away at Boro at The Riverside at the end of the game on a number of accasions.

I am sure there are others but my mind has gone blank ;-)

Anyone know why it kicked off that game down at Spurs? How was the atmosphere during the game? I mean we lost and wasn't it the last game of the season?

I heard that the night before we had took the piss in Central London.
It was a mixture of London clubs fans not just Spurs fans that caused the bother.
Chelsea were mentioned at the time :-|

From what I have read in various books Boro seemed proper organised, going down the place like Cardiff in big numbers and taking them on.

Andy Nicholl from Everton said they turned them over down they place once and in the return game they got off the coached and 400 boro swarmed all over then:shock:

We once went down Cardiff mob handed. Most lads flew to Bristol but we went down by car. About 400 of us if not more took over the city centre. Their firm was contacted and we got told we should of rang in advance. We left the ground early and the Welsh kernts wouldn't come out. We took the f***ing piss out of them big style that day on their own turf:lol:

Just to ask sumit, to clarify,

I know nowt about Hibs v Sunderland thing but i'm confused, Was there bother in Newcastle and Edinburgh?

I believe it was and I'd flown over as it's a habit of mine to see the last away game every season. I didn't have a ticket but met up with a dozen Sunderland, in Hawaian shirts, down for the weekend.

They had a spare, in the Spurs section, and I bought it.

On the way to the ground the Spurs fans seemed well worked up and we were attacked outside a pub on the way to the ground .... there was more trouble outside and I was sussed early on in the Spurs seats.

Terrible day all round and I still don't know what their problem was.

IIRC that day a number of our lads who attended had banning orders

Well I am past it now, but I do not exagerate, why should I ?
I have been involved in loads of face offs, get ins and the rest.
Two are memorable.
One was against The Mags. We were told 2 coach loads had ordered buffets in The Wolseley before a home game. About 15 of us went in at opening time ( all from Hartlepool by the way )
Sure enough in they came with their black and white shitey shirts on etc and before they had ordered their drinks they were pelted with pool balls etc. we were outnumbered massively but just literally dived into them.
They ran outside and were kicked all ower as they ran around like squealing pigs.
We chased three big lads into a dead end......never mind. Hey you Maggy feckers it might have been you !
Worst ever was Swansea away in early 80's. W e lost 3 - 1 Alan Brown scored.
Only bout 1200 of us there and we got into a nasty nasty fight before the game in a pub where people were injured badly.
Through all this I have loved Sunderland AFC like all of you. I am educated, have a happy life and abhor violence !
FTM

We took over the Porthcawl if that's spelt right but a few of my mates went off with Swansea fans who were f***ing dodgy. Leighton James scored and he celebrated in front of us until someone hoyed a banger at him :lol:

In a nutshell. Whereas at the Arsenal games, I've always drank in the home boozers and never had any bother whatsoever. Spurs are scum end of

For every one you read about there will be ten go un noticed.
I've mentioned Swansea away what about WEST hAM at home 77 we win 6-0
Get on the train at Seaburn and two Hammers fans come into the carriage wearing donkey jkts and carrying knives
Both toothless feckers which makes em look even more scary !
Shouting Cam On then You Geordie Bastards !!!
The Roof Should be Off Wiv Buubbles !!
The Seaham lads are shitting it and pull the cord.
The train halts at Seaham and these two Cockerneys are well and truly fecked after a stand off from Sunderland where I don't mind admitting I was shitting it. Thanks to my marras from Hartlepool who would not let these ugly Cockney Bastards take the pish.
They were ejected and arrwsted.

Does anyone remember Millwall, 1st game of the season '73 -74, just after the cup win. I hitched down with 2 bishop lads overnight with absolutely no money between us. We hoped to scrounge some money to get in from any lads we met - but the pre-match atmosphere was not conducive to such generosity. One of the other lads shat his pants and got the police to chaperone him home - we never got in and met up with what was left of our lads down at New Cross - all hell on - got chased up the railway lines by a large mob of weapon-bearing docker's sons - and finally got a lift home at 12 night on a supporters coach at Kings X, occupying the places left by some S'land lads who were attending a mate with a broken leg in hospital. all hell on along the Kings Cross road - a large mob of Sunderland headed by one lad with a large wooden mallet with nails sticking out of it.

Anyone remembers what it was like inside the ground? The Northern Echo had a picture on the Monday of the arsenal of weapons confiscated from the Millwall lot - icepicks, hammers, axes knives, etc.

Not seen the n/s PP? you on about hes a twat too! i seen there numbers of that.old vaux lad numbers used to post on the gsite for ages. so what did they have to say.

Is that the PP from Durham? If it is I used to occasionally drink in the same company as him in the Salutation in fram moor about 20 years ago. It was mixed between Sunderland and mags and never any bother but about a week after we did them in the play offs pp turned up with 3 of his gremlin mates. Somehow they clicked on who I supported and the 3 of them collared me by me self and 2 held me down while the other one stubbed a tab out on me arm, never felt pain like it and the smell of me flesh burning was f***ing horrible but didn't give them the satisfaction of making a sound, still got the scar now.
Proper hard lads they were, I was just turned 18 about 10 stone wet through and soft as shite!
Pp was a proper head the ball like.

Rememer Carlisle away (not sure if it was a friendly or FA cup around the same time) another lovable Shields branch shambles. Think we got there late after a boozer stop off and couldnt get parked. During the game the PA announcers read out "DFs Sunderland supportes bus is parked in XXXX road/avenue."

Bus was mixed, some lads, families, bairns, etc. Just as we got to the bus we got ambushed and had a fair battle before the Polis arrived. Life was never dull on the S/Shields Branch :-D

Just say no kids...

Life has never been dull with the Jarra/Shields/Hebburn coaches ower the years. We might slag eachother off but we have always stood toe to toe together when it has kicked off.

Inside the ground wasn't anywhere near as bad as outside.
The Sunderland fans were packed behind the goal with police all round them ......... we were in the seats, to their right, in with Millwall.

It was pretty rough and there were a few pockets of us trying to get together. The bastards, including women, were throwing all kinds of stuff at us. It was scary and they actually stunk.

I mean it, they smelled really bad like there was a water shortage.

Scruffy Cockney twats.

Saw a few people mention games against Newcastle.

Few incidents with them away from the derby games which I havent seen been mentioned.

England Under 21s at Sports direct stadium, strawberry got turned over.
England v Finland at Anfield outside limestreet station
England v Turkey at sol
Ireland v England (night of riots)
England v Germany (mainly forest but quite a few mags)
Hibs v Sland at central station

Thats just off the top of my head.

Saw this mentioned on a diferent forum last week, not much detail but mags holding hands with Forest again?
