A remember seeing Sunderland chasing mags about outside forest the year we were on course for the defeat record, it was red hot, late kick off.
Mags had teamed up with forest and sure it was going off after the match.

Thing that does my tits in about the whole hoolie thing is that not many people mention getting a hiding? They go OTT about the numbers involved for sure but surely with all these takings of ends, pubs, train stations someone get's the shit kicked out of them?

We got turned over down Southampton in the 80s. The kernts led us into an ambush in a park and we got slapped all over. We were canny pissed after an overnight journey on the friday and obviously not thinking straight. We should never have chased the scouts. I ended up walking to the ground by myself and getting loads of grief of them. A few were giving our lads some shit outside our end. I just ran up and smacked the mouthy with a peach. Before he got up or his mates reacted I was through the turnstyle and in. After the match we mobbed up and scattered the fuckers

Not trying to be funny mate but are you not getting your wires crossed??

There was a paving slab incident that involved Brum and Villa as well. Some lads got jail for that incident as one lad was killed.

very possible as it was a while ago and he might have told me a few stories about it all but i do remember him telling me that the bloke had said sunderland had always casued alot of trouble because of the numbers as this is why he was telling me about it. i remeber sunderland and newcastle both got quite a mention in his dissertation.

Suprised no one has mentioned the first time we played the mags at the SOL.

We were walking up Roker Avenue when we heard whistles being blown and the pubs seemed to empty and loads went running down Bridge St.

The mags were getting escorted over the bridge and getting attacked on all sides , there must have been hundreds of SAFC getting stuck in.

A "report" by some Leeds (iirc) fans was written and posted on the Paul Dodds website , stating the the mob of mackems was so big , that no other mob he could think of could have stood up to it. A very interesting read at the time and very accurate to what I witnessed that day.

A previous post about Notts County away in the 70's where Monty got chaired off the pitch brought back some memories as a much younger Buster was one of the lads on the pitch chairing him off.

Man Utd and West Ham are amongst the worst.

"Never been run, never been done".

Anybody who has travelled the length and breadth of the country year on year involved in the casual scene who says they havent come out second best on been on there toe's is either a liar or hasnt been anywhere.

Tony O'Neil iirc who wrote Red Army admits that everyone gets a kicking. His bit on Sunderland in the 70s at Seaburn station is funny as fuck. He didn't like Sunderland in the 70s and nor did United's main boy's

If that's the one I'm thinking about there was quite a bit of trouble during the day. Sunderland had been drinking in a pub just up the road from the away end (To the left as you left the ground.) and Southampton were buzzing around without getting too close ............ very edgy mind.

After the game I went round to the exit from the home side to our right. If you remember we had that poxy open end.
I was waiting for a Southampton fan who'd been shouting his mouth off and giving us 'cut throat' signs. I met a lad from Shotton who told me he was waiting for the same lad and that I should fuck off 'cos he'd got there first.

I did, he was a right hard nut.

This incident makes me :lol::lol::lol:

Mags had travelled down with forest and after the game they had bumped into a few sland on the bridge. Before words were spoken they came out with we newcastle lads, we down with you lot thinking they had bumped into forest...... the rest they say is history!

The coppers seemed to step to one side and allow both groups to get on with it for a period of time. It was all over the news the next day and quite a few of the lads got bans for it.

Setting a precedent which is still being carried out to this day ?

Sadly I didn't but I'm sure Leeds deserved it

We had a lad, Pete, who used to have a weird thing about going into the 'opposition firm's' pub to see if we could get away with it. It sounds even more stupid now than it seemed then.
(We were trapped in that pub at the bottom of the hill, outside the away end, at Birmingham and that's when we decided that was it.)

We'd get in early and have a few drinks until things started to get edgy, then slink away.
We were in the Peacock on a day when there was loads of trouble and windows were put through by Sunderland. We went out of the back door and picked up crates of empties in case we'd been sussed and followed.

We were followed, but Leeds overtook us and vanished into what looked like a housing estate

On my first visit to ER I was about 15 and we were outside the away corner and the gates weren't open. A load of Lids skins came past giving us shit and slapping a few. I thought we are dead here when they turned around and came back at us. Then all of a sudden the Vauxies came charging through that tunnel and started pummelling the lids that had the bottle to stand.

i remember word going round the mags were outside and we all tried to get out, police got a bit heavy but a few had managed to leave. apparently mags were straight on their toes after a comical conversation

The Mags f***ing totally shit their pants that day. Sunderland's mob came together within about 5 minutes and there was f***ing hundreds of us baying for blood. I managed to get a dig on a Mag behind a polis's back but it was f***ing shit and the kernt laughed at me. I told him to come out the escort one on one but the kernt kept laughing. I f***ing totally blew it:lol:

The sight of those players in the studio was almost as frightening as coming out of the ground after the game

Hot as fuck that day, i got the train in from Ilkeston(?)

Double decker and a 30 seater went down.

Loads went in on the train and the 30 seater was sent back to sunderland.

After the game everyone had to bum lifts on other buses to get back.

There's a canny book by a Boro lad,John Theone,Battling for the Boro, obviously there's loads of Sunderland mentioned in it,he mentions the Windmills incident, and fair play to him like other hoolie type books it's not all one way traffic we knacked them type stuff,he always give credit where it's due.

They knocked on the windows of the pub we took over and we stupidly spilled out and chased them. They ran into a park behind home end then all of sudden the kernts were appearing from behind trees and bushes and ran us all over. Proper funny now but my arse went at the time :lol:

From what I have read in various books Boro seemed proper organised, going down the place like Cardiff in big numbers and taking them on.

Andy Nicholl from Everton said they turned them over down they place once and in the return game they got off the coached and 400 boro swarmed all over then:shock:
