T20 Blast 2026

Loads of youngins tearing around the stands, puts you off when watching the game also, really annoying having them screaming
I may be an intolerant git, but that's one of the reasons I generally don't bother with t20.

I get the 'it might get kids into cricket' argument and plenty are/do but not sure what dragging a kid along then letting them get out of control achieves.

Might go this week as it isn't school holidays/weekend.

I know the disappointment of the result will cloud some people's view but I thought that was a great game.

I'd much rather watch a game like that than a brainless IPL slog fest. That was a hard wicket to score runs on and a real test of skill for both teams. That game required hard work, intelligence and good decision making. Raine and Parkinson really are class and i think any T20 side would be happy to have them. Raine is such a clever bowler. Ultimately though, Northants were more savvy and disciplined.

We didn't even need power tonight. Nor did we against Yorkshire.

Another low scorer that just needed someone to bat the innings.

Both McKinney and Ackermann saw it well enough to bat ahead of the rate. Both chased it after hitting a few.

This format is just as much about quick thinking as power. Zero brain power cost us tonight.
Problem is the players don't appear to have worked that out.

Red ball contract but is allowed to play second XI t20. I asked this and was advised this is the case.

Ackermann is piss poor in all formats.

We have seen in the past how good Ackermann can be in all forms of cricket, he hit 30 runs in an T20 over last season iirc....but since then he has admittedly been bang out of form

Totally agree..all of our batsmen can hit it and hard.....but like last season there is no thought going into our play.
I thought things might be different this season after the fallout / critical review post season and the appointment of a sports psychologist ....but i dont see any difference in this seasons side to that of last except for Parky and Potts

Every time Clark bats, you’d think we’re chasing 250!
Yes and in only 10 overs

I dont understand the mentality in totally going for it from the off when the target is only 7-8 an over and trying to get ahead of the rr......sure it relieves pressure at the beginning if it works but perhaps too much so it leads to complacency ?....on the other hand if itdoesnt work and we are suddenly 3-4 down in the powerplay ( regardless if we are ahead of the rr or not ) that adds more pressure on the middle and lower order.
Just play sensible cricket like Yorkshire did up here

How was the Taylor Swift tribute ?
Create much interest for the members ?...bring some young un's in ?

I thought we were great in the first half. 16 of our overs were bowled terrifically well, the fielding was good and we didn't look even remotely like dropping a catch. When I left at half time I was certain that we'd either chase it down with ease, or collapse catastrophically in a heap.

Since the Leics match, the big Neesham shaped hole in the middle order is looking bigger with every game we play. I still look at our middle order and have absolutely no idea where the big match winning innings is going to come from if Clark and Lees get out early. I'm pretty certain that the next time we win a game it will be when Clark and/or Lees have scored big runs.

After breaking Phil Mustard's T20 half century club record a couple of weeks ago, Graham Clark has now broken Mustard's T20 duck club record too. We can't keep relying on Clark/Lees/McK to score all the runs. When Turner was here, I couldn't see any runs lower than the top 5, now I can't see any runs lower than the top 3 or 4. It's only great bowling and fielding that is keeping us in some of these matches. That at least is progress after all those years when almost all of our bowlers routinely conceded 10 an over.... and in the case of the dutch boys.... 15 an over.

The batting unit is awful for this format but has never been addressed. The best T20 sides have 6 hitters galore you could argue we barely have a couple.

It's hard to get quality with the IPL but the fact we have no overseas and some of recent ones have been dire. We are playing in easily the worst group quality wise and we still look poor.

But the tactics at time are awful with bat and ball opening with young Minto yesterday.

Clark, Lees, McKinney and Ackerman's shot where utterly terrible.

McKinney was playing really well than to a part time spinner a hack across the line trying to hit a 6 with 2 fielders out to the longest side such a low percentage shot.
