German doner kebab

The best kebab I've had was in Turkey (Sarigerme), freshly made in the hotel's beach restaurant - head and shoulders above anything I've had from anywhere else.
 



Mmmm. "contained little actual lamb, but a mix of fat, skin, assorted meats and mechanically reclaimed meat products...
I'd lived in Germany for 9 years before returning to the UK and had many may Greek gyros kebabs and that's all I knew about kebabs really.

Fast forward to my return to the UK and all I could hear was people going on about donner kebabs. I almost vomited when I bought one. I mean what is it even made of?

The gyros kebabs are made of huge slices of actual lamb on a spike coated in herbs and spices.
