Patto hasnt played a second in the PL despite making 2 massive saves in the Play Off Final. Doesn't suggest we've valued his contribution. We didn’t jettison Neil it was his choice not to sign a new contract, Patterson as of now is still a Sunderland player as far as I’m aware, Roberts move to Birmingham suited everyone.
100% Why would you stay loyal to a crooked organisation that has worked against you. Thats a toxic relationship if ever ive seen oneWhy should Ross Stewart stay loyal to a Club that cheated and cost him his Premier League dream.
What an inadequate description of Ross Stewart's playing abilities. OK, level your sights at League One. He had 11 goals in 15 appearances when he got injured in the Championship and looked very comfortable. His career at Southampton has struggled due to serious injuries. He got fit though and was instrumental in Southampton's drive to the play offs. His goal against Arsenal and all around performance illustrated what he might have managed in a decent side in the Premier League. He was our best defender at corners too. Some managers in the Championship have some weird, "aren't I clever" thing about how they pick their team. Clarke has it at Ipswich, he was their top scorer yet McKenna tries his hardest not to pick him.His touch is adequate in the pub league maybe
Even when fit he was by no means s regular starter for Soton
Too many hung up on his glory days with us in pub league extraordinaire div 1
Bringing ex players back rarely works out
Leave him where he is best suited
Well he didn’t do that hereThis lad has a nack of timing his rare run of form with no injuries.....usually at the end of a contract when he holds all the cards![]()
Sounds like they kept Stewart hanging on to see what division they would be in. Probably they wanted to know if they would be in the premier league or not before deciding. Shot themselves in the foot (again).Harsh as if he leaves considering how much time he's been injured during his contract. That said, why have they waited til the very last minute to extend his deal? Sounds like they were being clever and it's not worked out the way they expected it to.
If Stewart's advisors have challenged the date the extension was lodged, he clearly doesn't want to stick around or wants an improved deal.

A fit Ross Stewart is a goalscorer. His defend from the front energy and ability to hold the ball up keeps defenders occupied and works for a team like ours now.
Of course you can question his ceiling as a player but to dismiss him as some kind of lamp post with feet is grossly unfair and ignores how well he actually played for us.
The difference between him and Charlie Wyke was immediately obvious.
I hope he gets a chance for Scotland and he can add scoring at a World Cup to his career achievements. Southampton haven't a leg to stand on with players looking elsewhere. They have just played a whole season, dragged themselves into the play offs and thought they were on the cusp of promotion but find it was all a waste of time because their coach cheated. Southampton are sticking by their dishonest coach.
When the next generation of fans who don't remember them have taken over this place? At what point in time do we get to a place where people stop suggesting we f***ing resign Ross Stewart and Jack Clarke etc?![]()
He would be far better for Boro than what they had or haveBoro could be interested in taking a chance on him, to put the chances away.
If they'd had a half decent forward, instead of Conway, they would probably be playing Premier League football, next season.

Would be a great signing for themBoro could be interested in taking a chance on him, to put the chances away.

And how do you expect him to do his medical and his contract like if he does not travel. If he was on his way then 99.9% chance a bid has been acceptedCouldn't wait to get away from us when he was pictured at the airport before any announcement of him leaving he will do the same to Southampton. He will be putting himself in the shop window at the world cup
Tin hat on a bit here, but I sometimes feel he gets odd over the top godlike worship by some of our fanbase at times. He was undoubtedly a good player for us and helped us work our way back to where we belong and scored a couple of hugely important goals for us, so for that I’ll always be grateful and think fondly of him. Seems a canny lad who’s had an awful time with injuries as well. But I’m surprised at how much he’s still talked about and for people to even think he would be worth bringing back at the level we are currently at is mental imo, same goes for Clarke. At what point in time do we get to a place where people stop suggesting we f***ing resign Ross Stewart and Jack Clarke etc?![]()
What was his old one?He only posts for bites mate . Hence his new username.
Clarke becomes our best LWer? Would you rather have a 25/26 year old Jack Clarke in the PL, or a 20 year old Chemsdine Talbi?Clarke becomes our best left winger (assuming we class ELF as a CM)
Stewart would be a cracking 3rd/4th choice for a team playing in 4 competitions next season. Is a bit of a big game player too.
I’m not sure describing L1 as pub league standard is correct. It’s miles above pub league standards. If it weren’t then they’d be playing against pubs. Pub teams wouldn’t be able to cope against professional footballers. His touch is adequate in the pub league maybe
