Jason Steele

Dunno what dirt that family have on football ! Steele was bad enough but Wing was a weaker player at non league level. People were astonished he got a gig at semi pro and it was like the twilight zone when he made it as a pro

He is there but not in the squad - and don't call me Shirley
Looks like I picked the wrong week to stop sniffing glue.
I think he’s a decent lad and really wanted to do well here but he was in the worst form of his career and we were shite.
I remember him being interviewed after Sheff Wed battered us. He looked like he was going to cry.

In fairness on STID he always looked like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders, probably wasn’t the happiest place to be that season, not to mention he had to share his goalkeeper training sessions with f***ing Lee Camp, Mika, and Robin Ruiter. What a sad state of affairs that is.

It’s not a new phenomenon. England have taken a non playing goalie to the last few tournaments. They train and then stick around for penalty and shooting drills with the strikers when the rest of the squad (and playing goalies) have done enough. I think Tom Heaton had that role under Southgate.

Ah mean... This is fair.

He was still utter gubbins though.

There is a lot of scepticism about some of the players who are just along for the ride.

My mind always moves to the Ryder Cup and how vice captains are an integral part of morale and coaching. Obviously they allow more than one match be watched and tracked simultaneously but there is something about sharing the burden with experienced pros.

I was surprised at the omissions from the squad but he must have thought that if Iam not going to play them they will add nothing

Whatever you think of him (utter nervous wreck/garbage for us) he's done well to turn his career around and this is a testament to what he must be as a personality around the training ground, we've had a few players over the years that while on the pitch weren't up to much they were well thought of members of the squad, good luck to him i say (just pray we don't need him to play!) 😆
