Spot on. For a small country like ours, where travel to several venues would be a piece of cake, and moderately cheap. Plenty of large and medium stadiums within short distances.

Hopefully EC28 is an enormous and unequalled success which just massively emphasises the corruption and cronyism that is leading the decision making in FIFA around WC allocation.

Even then I still doubt a WC gets played here in the next 20yrs. Unless HRH Billy Idle, Villa's most famous fan, gets his thumb out of his arse and uses some of their alleged "soft diplomacy" to actually do something constructive.

i was thinking from a carbon footprint, environmental perspective, it would be cheapest place to host the WC and the least amount of work needed to be done. could probably host it tomorrow.

theres 44 clubs in the premier league and championship with top notch training facilities too.

the money that is saved on building new stadia and train stations and the likes could be spent on reducing ticket prices

Yeah they are spinning it as the 100 year anniversary of the first WC which was held in Uruguay. In that case it just give the tournament to f*cking Uruguay. Or at least South America.

I only realised in the past couple of days that the tournament starts a week tomorrow. The 11th. The reason I didn’t realise, is that England’s first match is the 17th. A week before the first & last first game for all nations are played. Some teams are playing their second match while some are playing their first.

Bloated to say the least.

You’re way off about William. The UK bid was an excellent one. A lot of hard work went into it from Beckham and William. Unfortunately the UK didn’t stand a chance dealing with FIFA and corruption via Qatar and Russia
