The Waiting List

Anyone kna how this actually works? Do you have to sign up every season, or once you're on it are ya on it 'til a seat becomes available?

Anyone been on it and had any luck lately?

People move away or die
The latter quite a bit unfortunately
Used to have one in the north stand since it opened after being at Roker Park and had to give it up due to personal reasons in 2014. Would love to get one now am better fixed. Been to three games this season and the atmosphere and the lighting is amazingly brilliant! Never got beat mind, Wolves, Palace and Everton…. Old lucky charm me😆 HAWAY THE LADS!!!

Used to have one in there myself. It took so long to get out after the game that I'd think twice about leaving if there were two home games in a row.

It's like a 90s meat counter, you take your number and hope you get drawn out eventually.

There needs to be a proper system with a queue you can see. Even a £2 yearly fee would weed out all the time wasters
What do you mean ? An online list of the list they already have ? You could want one now and they could contact you in 2028 and your circumstances are completely different
Does that make you a timewaster ?

So you can see your own number in the queue online like 99% of other clubs who have a waiting list. You get a letter every year etc showing your queue number.

Renewing it yearly and charging even £1 avoids the situation you describe in 2028. They'd already have left the waiting list when they no longer wanted a season ticket.

This ringing around people going down the list is pathetic. Its not 2004.

it was a farce :D... site crashed after ten mins and they stopped selling them online
random phone calls since then asking if want to buy but only single tickets were left, no pairs , unsure why they couldnt have just opened the site again

Apart from seeing your place in the queue I don't get it
If you only drop out yearly it's not changing much. You could be asked in December after paying your pound in January and decline
On the last point ,would you not expect contact from them when a seat is there and your next?

But thats not happening. They did a random free for all that gave hundreds of people access to the site at the same time. Then took them off sale when there is hardly any left and rang people 1 by 1.

Its a total half arsed job.

I'll bow out as I'm lost ,I thought we had a waiting list. A queue they control
If we have ,and they contact people as and when they come available that sounds ok to me. If someone is in that list and declines it's wasted very little time .

Like I said though, that isn't what happened. They allowed loads to log on to the site at the same time and had a free for all for seats.

Whether you were 1 in the queue or 1,000. They all got access at the same time with a link.

Only the last few weeks have they tried to get rid of the last few straggler seats by ringing around.
